Got my Samurai to level 10 last night and I got started on my Fishing skill. Level 1. woot.
And Sean, I hit my 2hr and did a renkei by myself. It saved my ass from dying. It was hella bomb.

can u guys tell me whats bad about drk/pld. i dont want to hear about the benefits of other jobs, i want to hear why pld makes a bad sub for a drk.

And without Provoke. You’d probably get turned down for parties more than getting invites simply because you’re a Paladin that doesn’t tank. But I’m just a thief … I don’t know much hehe.

No class combination really “sucks”, it’s just there’s much better options other than drk/pld.

Bullshit. Bad combinations REALLY REALLY hurt you, especially when partying at 30+, where people actually know whats going on. At that level, I can guarantee you that, unless there is no other player looking for group within 5 levels of the groups average, no party will take you if you are DRK/PLD or vice-versa, so I suggest other combinations. You might not be exactly like Cecil, but I don’t recall Cecil ever sitting in Jeuno for weeks, with a Seek Tag on.
General rules for jobs/sub-jobs:
-Don’t mix Melee with Magic, unless you are soloing/farming.
-If you are a WHM, sub BLM or SMN. If you are any other mage, sub WHM or SMN.
-If you are a BRD, sub WHM.
-PLD subs WAR and NOTHING else
-Don’t main SMN.
-Under any circumstances, don’t sub DRG, BST, BRD.
-Don’t sub SAM unless it gives you Meditate (Lv 60/30+).
-Don’t sub MNK unless you are a n00b WAR or THF with no advanced jobs.
-On second thought, don’t use MNK.
-Taru PLDs and Galka WHMs make baby Jesus cry.
-No PT Nerms.

Does subbing pld with drk suck? Depends how you define “sucks”. Yes, anything else (just about) subbed with drk would be better. But does having no sub beat a drk/pld? Not really. The pld sub still adds to the drk, just not very well at all. But there’s still no downside to it, so it doesn’t really “suck”, just not as good as say… drk/thf.
Here is the MvC2 equivalent to what you basically just said.

You’re comparing DRK/PLD to DRK/nothing. Meanwhile, I’m comparing “Having a Party” to “LFG more often than Nerms”. The fact is, DRK/PLD is complete garbage. Some say it’s unique, and therefore fun. If you find “looking for a party while nobody takes you because your character’s subjob choice sucks dank” as fun, then knock yourself out.
