this game was NEVER bad…great story, soundtrack, gameplay…everything…top notch game

HEY GUYS WE ALL GREW UP TOGETHER IN THE SAME ORPHANAGE BUT WE FORGOT BECAUSE WE USE OUR GUARDIAN FORCES BUT LET’S KEEP USING OUR GUARDIAN FORCES BECAUSE THEY WON’T AFFECT THE STORY IN AN ARBITRARY MANNER ANYMORE. ALSO LOL WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT WE ALL HAPPENED TO MEET UP TOGETHER RANDOMLY TO SAVE THE WORLD AFTER HAVING GROWN UP TOGETHER AND OH HEY THE MAIN BADDY FOR 3/4 OF THE GAME WAS ALSO OUR MATRON AT THE ORPHANAGE WHAT ARE THE CHANCES LOL.
Sorry, but the story in 8 is just so wretchedly absurd that it pretty much killed JRPGs for me for a long time. I’m only now starting to play them again (just finished 10 for the first time, and that one was pretty bad too, but not 8-levels of bad). I should get around to playing 9 some day. I have 12 but still have never played it.
That said, the soundtrack to 8 was merely okay, but the great tracks on it were truly outstanding. That’s why I’m doing a couple tunes from 8 for the FF remix album I’m doing.

I have played all of the FF’s and they are by far the best games out there. Soooo cant wait for XIII best game of the year imo. I do really hope they make a film about FF8 like they did with 7 that would be awsome. Just finished downloading 8 gona play right after i beat emerald weapon without the underwater materia i heard that was possible anyway. Oh and how can you not say 7 is the best i mean its got sephiroth SEPHIROTH!!! best villian of all time. Dont get me wrong it is only just better then 8 though.
And yeah 9 was pretty bad it was ok but seemed to have something missing.
7 was an all around fun and decent game for the series. The best thing about it is that it opened up the RPG genre to TONS more players with its release on the playstation. all the weapons are beatable with x-materia & kotn, then mimic materia on the next one OR two if you get it to replicate after it maxes, but I would definitely put on the shorter summon animations because sitting through 8 or 12 kotns in a row all be it cool at first; it gets annoying
there are other tactics out there you can find or look-up, but thats what i did way back when the game wasn’t even close to being a greatest hits yet
FF10 was a great game also to the guy that didn’t like it. I had everyone with fully covered sphere grids, break hp limit(20k+), and break dmg limit (99,999) each hit and with the auroch reals you get with wakka when he does like 12 hits thats nearly 1.2mil dmg; making the game extremely easy, but sooooooo much fun
DEFINITELY play through XII as it was absolutely a great story and so much fun doing the side monster hunts + getting all the best weapons & armors
and your rendition of the FF8 story just shows me you didn’t quite understand it all because thats not very accurate at all

Aside from the “twist” in FF8, I didn’t have too many issues with the story. It was my first FF, so perhaps I’m a bit biased, but it’s still one of my favorite in the series for overall atmosphere, soundtrack, and just fun. XII is the only game in the main series I haven’t finished (yes, I played a bit of XI, though I guess there’s no real way to “beat” it), I think I screwed up building my characters and now I’m just in a giant endgame clusterfuck, and I can’t be arsed to go back and redo it or grind endlessly for LP.
I thought the story for ff8 was pretty good i mean the whole thing about them being orphans together but forgetting was only a really small part of the story. And why is it so hard to believe that a tool they use for fighting makes them forget stuff?? I mean it aint like the story is supposed to be realistic ITS A GAME.
Oh and i beat emerald weapon with no underwater materia with 1 sec left on the clock thank god for the knights materia got it on my last summon too if it failed i would have been toast.
FF10 was waaaaayyyy to easy my kimahri was able to do 99,999dmg with every hit so the end boss took like 2 hits.
FF11 is awsome finally got my drg to lvl75 why still sooo much drg hate?? and my sam is also at lvl75 woot.
The good thing about FF7 is the story is waaayyyy longer then on the actual game anyone who doesnt know about it should read up as you find out about teen sephiroth and so on its pretty kool.

when I sold I was top 3 of all BARDS and WHM on server including NA & JP players…top HNMshell that dominated almost all time windows; damn that game was crazy fun
To this day I still cannot understand why people hate on FFIX…I never hear any good reasons, just it was really bad.
I never played FFXI. I wasn’t sure if it was strictly online or if there was an offline mode. I didn’t bother asking. I played all the other FF’s though, and IMHO I think FFVIII and FFIX are the worst ones. FFIX just got really REALLY boring by the end of disc 2. FFVIII started out with one thing on everyone’s mind: kill Ultimecia. Then you get to disc 2, and it’s like “OMG Squall I love you!” Then you get to Disc 3, and Squall gets super emo.
I’ll say this though: I would play through FFVII again before I’ll play through FFIX or FFX-2. Both are equally bad.
My reason for hating FFIX was it was sooooo boring the card game sucked ass the mini games were pants the characters apart from vivi were just lame i hated the fact you could only have 2 people to summon so you were kinda forced in what characters you could use. For example in ff7 i always use cloud sid and tifa ff8 squall rinoa and zell you get to like certain characters and if you cant use em cos you need your party set up a certain way it just sucks.
FF10 only just got passed this problem because you could change your characters when ever you wanted.
