Actually, both Celes and Terra have capes in Amano artwork. So we really can’t tell as yet. But at least we confirmed that it’s either Terra or Celes, and not Locke like some were fearing.
As for preference, I prefer Celes. I still think Celes has a slightly higher chance of appearing. Terra’s trance gimmick is already taken by Kuja and Zidane, so I don’t see why they would have another one. On the other hand, Celes can have some kind of gimmick via Runic Blade - maybe she absorbs all non-physical attacks for a period of time or something.
I can’t help but wonder if Ultimacea will retain her “temp accent”.
Here’s hoping for Sabin or Edgar over Terra and Celes. The game has an overabundance of swordmen and spellcasters in the game, and you just know you’d love to mix it up with a sonic boom or chainsaw in someone’s mug.
^ As much as I like Terra, I’d also like Edgar dual-wielding an Autocrossbow that shoots arrows and Drills and a Chainsaw that shoots Air Anchor bullets that shoot Sabins.
Does he start a Dark Knight and become a Paladin in EX mode, or does he start a Paladin and become a Dark Knight in EX mode? Or can he just freely switch like Gen?
They should’ve made him a Dark Holy Knight.
All that’s missing are the FF6 and FF7 heroes (probably Terra and Cloud), and the FF5 hero/villain duo (Bartz and Exdeath/Exodus no doubt).
The Paladin Cecil is described as being good at air attacks, as well as being a balanced all round character that can use both physical attacks and magic.
The Dark Knight Cecil is a ground attack expert, and has high offensive capabilities.
Golbez is a magic master that’s great from long distance.
While the other characters are always presented in their normal forms in cutscenes, the single cutscene screen between Cecil and Golbez feature his Paladin form, yet in the two gameplay screens it’s clearly Dark Knight Cecil with a Dark Knight Cecil portrait next to his health bar. When the Onion Knight changed into his EX modes in battle, the portrait didn’t change, but if Dark Knight Cecil is his default form, why would his Paladin form be in a cutscene? Hmmmm…
I’d actually like to have Locke around with a valiant knife that insta kills when you’re at critical health lol. He can be the K-Groove of the game. Also, I know it isn’t exactly final fantasy, but it would’ve been 20 orgasms of awesomeness had they decided to include a pair of Chrono trigger characters in there.
That WOULD be interesting actually…however Squeenix (man that sounds horrible) seems to pretend like the fan base behind chrono trigger is non existent. How many years has it been since Chrono Cross and they’re only getting another remake?
I too am a large final fantasy VII (and final fantasy in general) fan, and
I wonder if they are building up for cloud to appear in the game. It seems like he was the only good guy character not shown. Besides Sephiroth without cloud against him just dose not seem right.
