and Laguna is officially the second main character in FFVIII (everyone who knows its history understands this!)
So it totally makes sense even though it may catch some people off guard, that fact in itself really doesn’t make it that surprising he was picked over the others. It actually is a good sign that Square Enix these days still understands FFVIII’s origins and depth.

well they have been going high, low, high, low with number patterns. IV, XIII, VII, XII, VIII…so the next number revealed will be higher than 8, which means it might be 10, therefore Yuna will be revealed next. 
Now that would be awesome. Though would they go with the summoner Yuna or the Sphere-hunter Yuna?
Personally, I hope for Sphere-Hunter just for the fun job changing.
Sphere Hunter Yuna would fit much better and opens up more possibilities! Also Yuna is much more athletic during FFX-2. Even Dead Fantasy chose that version and Gunner works brilliantly. Even though Laguna uses guns, they can make Yuna’s Gunner style different just like there are many sword and magic users in Dissidia, they all attack differently. Yuna’s Gunner dresssphere could be like a combo style, land a heavy shot to chain into multiple trigger shots!
or maybe she can switch between dresspheres just like Lightning’s Role switching, Yuna could get like 2 extra dresspheres to switch (like Lady Luck and Psychicer.)
Or maybe she would instantly change dresspheres as she does combos and link certain attacks? (like Vaan’s 8 weapon switching, Yuna might have about 8 Dresspheres that are linked together in her moves somehow, each with strategic uses.)
Special Dressphere Floral Fallal with Great Whirl would make super great unique EX Burst finish!

Personally, I just want more girls in the game. Getting Yuna along with Tifa and Lightning would just be ice on the cake.

It’s great they added Edea, even though it’s a costume, it can still be accepted that it is Edea Kramer’s body
Ultimecia is possessing (so it’s more on the “skin” category than just a costume category).
It still is a nice shortcut to adding a new playable character, even though it’s basically the same person behind it all.
i honestly rather auron than yuna. i hate her sooooo much in both FFX and FFX-2. but eh, can’t have everything. at least i got lightning, kain, tifa. laguna.
