Final Fantasy Dissidia thread. Sequel announced!

Wait, don’t tell me you want EX-Modes banned…

…Damn I’m tired as FUCK.

All of the EX attacks. Sorry if this has been posted already.

What are thes inf’s? I havent heard of them anyone care to explain what they are?

How does Cloud have an inf if his entire moveset knocks people far away from him to the other side of the goddamn map? Is it a wall infinite?

Go watch.

Yeah…that would be the one. Works on ad-hoc, too. So yeah…go Cloud.

Damn, that’s pretty bad. Seems to me that’s a result of air dodges just being spammable and not being limited.

i found several matches/videos on nico

http://www.nicovideo.jp/search/Dissidia

i don’t know if this is vs cpu or not and some of these may not be matches i can’t read kanji

after all the matches i watched it’s the ones without items or summons or ex that are the most balanced and enjoy able. yes i understand the infinites keep the game for be to competitive. though i still feel the matches without items or summons or ex attacks(supers) are the best. though i believe ex mode should still be use the ex attack(supers) just ends the game to fast.

excuse me i don’t know all the terms in this game.

^ Which matches feature Cloud?

i don’t remember but he is easy to find

bonus

action replay matches

best one save for last

how do they get the music to match so well with the endings in some of these videos?

alot of these action replay videos look like cg to me

there are so many people online claiming there character is the best and no one can beat them but they only play the same people. i would love this game to get some kind of tournament play. like we do here with sf, ggxx, tekken, brawl, and all the other fighters

Dragging this thread from the depths with news on Dissidia’s English release. A new mode, Arcade, is being added, balance is being adjusted, the tutorial is being largely shortened, new moves for everyone and extra cutscenes, featuring characters not seen in the Japanese version.

S-E have said they would consider making a Dissidia 2 but it depends on sales of the Western version.

Whoa. Great job, Squeenix. That’s pretty awesome.
Hopefully they won’t mess this up.

Japan will get a Japan-only “international” edition. Just you wait.

Then again, they never got one for FF Tactics WotL. Which means I should be happy, right? Wrong. I think it’s stupid that Japanese gamers don’t get voice acting for WotL at all. I hate Square.

Though I must admit that, if Mark Hammil voices Kefka, I will pick up the game for that alone. Actually, that’s pretty much the ONLY thing that will make me buy it.

Dr. B International is available in all languages worldwide.

What are the odds of this being released as a downloadable title in the west?

specs:

I heard a while back that Mark Hammil can’t do the Joker voice anymore because it hurts his throat. :frowning:

To be fair, WOTL would need some fixes before anyone rightfully should be happy with it. Japan didn’t even have the retranslation to justify the crappy emulated sound effects and slowdown.

But really, this is one case where I think an International version is almost necessary. Otherwise, Japan is stuck importing the definitive competitive version for the game if it ever takes off. Not that I sympathize too terribly considering how we’re stuck doing that for Tatusnoko vs. Capcom, Arcana Heart, etcetcetc but on principle nobody should have to do that :P.

Isn’t he doing the Joker voice for Arkham Asylum though?

O.o? looks at Batman: Arkham Asylum

That’s what I’m saying. Square’s “rip off our fans” philosophy is to release a title in the following order:

 • A preliminary (read: shitty) version in Japan.
 • An improved version outside of Japan.
 • A definitive “best of all worlds” version for Japan only.

This is a big “fuck you” to consumers everywhere. Japanese gamers are forced to pay way more than they should unless they want to wait (oh and pity the poor Japanese gamer who buys the shitty version first and has to shell out FULL PRICE for the upgrade), and non-Japanese gamers are forced to import or just not have access to what is often the best, most complete version of a game.

NINJA EDIT - And, as you mentioned, if the third “International Version” is never made (WotL), Japanese gamers are fucked again. And fans all over the world continue to support this with money, and seem to be against voicing their outrage (believe me, I TRIED to get people to write, email, and otherwise ask Square to localize Final Mix+) and just submit to either importing or shrugging. (This is part of the reason I hate most fans of anything.)

If I ever become a bigshot game dev, I will push for my publishers to release around the world simultaneously. If not possible, whatever new features a game gets during a new regional release will be available to everyone who already has the game via free DLC.

Dr. B can ninja edit posts up to 500 years after initially making them. I lack such an ability.

I like to think of it as them making up for not releasing either KH2FM+, KHFM, or FFXII International Zodiac Job System or whatever the fuck to was called in English. Both Kingdom Hearts Final Mixes and the FFXII remake even had English voice acting for fuck’s sake. I think FFXII Zodiac even had 16:9 support.

I’d rather they make up for it by releasing said titles here. Ironically, I probably wouldn’t buy any of them, as I’ve fallen out of love with both Kingdom Hearts and the Ivalice games (save FFT/WotL), but it would be a much nicer gesture than giving us something at Japan’s expense. Square’s system is horribly flawed, but they’ll keep getting away with it because we (by “we” I mean everyone worldwide who buys their products) keep funding it.

(I probably WOULD buy FF10 International if it came out in NA, though.)

Dr. B’s Sphere Grid consists of eleventy billion different versions of Ultima, Holy, and Super Regen, which is like Super AIDS but in reverse.
