how to unlock gabranth and shantotto

Alright, definitive answer time on how to unlock these cats.

Completing each of the character’s destiny is only half the battle.

Once you complete the ten you unlock a new “card,” which in itself has 4 more chapters. At the end of these you defeat Chaos.

After the storyline is complete, there are three new cards in story mode-- one for Shantotto, one for Gabranth, and another I haven’t touched yet. Once you complete these, you unlock the character for purchase in the PP shop thing.

Shantotto costs 1000PP. I’m working on Gabranth now, but I assume he’ll be the same.

Damn, Jecht can be fucking insane when levelled up. Just from playing against his AI, he has really long, fast Brave strings that rush towards you and track and will totally rape your Brave if you get caught in them. Of course, that means he had lots of Brave, which means that his HP attacks will kill the shit out of you. I’m liking Squall and Butz so far. I’m trying to upload a low-level Butz video now even.

Golbez is pretty cool, not having to pay too much attention to range is fun, since he attacks at both short and long ranges at once. Some of his attacks teleport him about too. I’ve beaten Butz’s, Squall’s and Tidus’s story modes so far.

Also, this is confirmed for a US release in Summer 2009 by Square theirselves.

Holy shit @ the Decisive Battle; that’s definitely the best arrangement i’ve heard besides the original (piano one is too soft, changes the verse, Black Mages version nails the chorus part but drops the verse completely except for a bit in the bridge, other metal version sounds too synthesized or something)

I was sooo hoping they’d include it. At least from FF6, did they include The Phantom Forest and/or Devil’s Lab? (prolly the two best songs from the game imo; neither have good arrangements besides the originals)

In other news, yeah, i really dislike how Terra acts. Kinda a bummer…

i find it interesting how clouds design started (or became more noticable) to be modeled as a variation of gilgamesh’s and also ended up having multiple swords in advent children (plus omnislash 2 using multiple swords) then I notice how butz uses multiple swords too, and has one shoulder guard on his left shoulder like cloud

if you look at the pic of butz’s EX form you’ll see he has a few of the swords that belong to all the final fantasy characters (clouds, squall’s etc)

I haven’t played FF5 but im interested in the story now

wow another interesting thing is onion knights ninja form has 2 swords that look exactly like butz’s sword but split in two, 1 wing on each sword, butz’s sword has two wings. same shape and everything

oh cool, what’s his personality like? makes sense a bit why he has similarities to cloud, with cloud copying/becoming Zack in FF7.

does anyone know what FF game has the ability called MIME in it apart from FF7?

Butz is nothing like Cloud or Zack personality-wise. He is basically a carefree character with a good sense of justice yet not quite as philanthropic as Zidane. I dunno why they’re making him appear similar to Cloud- the two have nothing to do with eachother.

Mimes can replicate the previous action of another party member with the Mimic command. In Final Fantasy V, Mimes can equip most weapons and be given other previously learned abilities and commands. In addition to replacing their Fight command with the Mimic command, they also sacrifice their Item command for an extra custom ability slot, both commands can be added back just like others. In Final Fantasy VI, Gogo can be given up to three special commands that the other characters have. In Final Fantasy VII, the characters equipped with the “Mime” Materia can mimic the most recent action performed by another party member. In Final Fantasy Tactics, the Mime is the final unlockable class, available to a character once they unlock most other jobs and achieve certain levels in those other jobs. These Mimes are complimented by immense strength of their own, however, they cannot equip armor or weapons, and suffer from extreme vulnerability. Gogo (??, Gogo?) is a mysterious stranger, completely shrouded in multicolored fabric, and trained in the art of mimicry. S/he is one of two secret characters in the game. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, his/her job class is given as “Mime”.

Gogo is an optional character of no story significance, and can only be encountered deep within the belly of a monster called the Zone Eater in the World of Ruin. By finding their way to Gogo’s lair, the Returners prove their worthiness to Gogo, who then agrees to lend his/her services to their cause. S/he has little to no characterization and is even of uncertain gender in the English translation. In the original, S/he uses the male Japanese pronoun ore (??).

I don’t think cloud is predominantly a Buster sword user, unlike Angeal and Zack who both used standard sword and the Buster sword (angeal used buster sword when he was serious and Zack used buster when he grew up)

Well, they are both blond, but that is mostly because that is the only hair color Amano used for like the first 6 games. They both don’t wear a whole lot of actual protective gear, because relying on skill to protect you is cooler.

If Crisis Core Cloud was anything like Cloud in FF7’s nibelheim flashback (which he probably is), he’d be energetic and naive. I dunno if I’d call him ESPECIALLY cheerful, just more so than he was in FF7 proper. Still a ways from Butz, though- when FF5 starts Butz has some experience behind him. He’s a pretty typical cheerful adventurer type.

I think he’s a Master class actually. I noticed in his Ex-mode he gets 3 stars above his head like when you’ve mastered a job in FF5.

I was wondering wether to get a PSP or not but this game (plus others) seals it for me. too bad it wont be easy to get.
