Final Fantasy Dissidia thread. Sequel announced!

That they have different preferences than I do is fine. That they have this overwhelming opinion based on very little credible reasoning is what makes me mad. I won’t get into the FF6 vs. other FFs thing here but in every debate I’ve seen, one side argues with logic and reason, and the other tends to measure worth in units of “awesome.” Let’s leave it at that.

EEN DEESEEDEE-UH, TODOS AS PESSOAS EEZ FLY

Which is not really any different than Cyclops “superjumping.” Game looks very promising. I’m not expecting a deep metagame but I am expecting a fun playthrough or three.

Apparently lifestream is solid enough to be run on.

Jesus Voltron Christ, they both do a lot of fucking HP damage. Although, I don’t honestly know why I’m surprised. :bluu:

I cried out “Bullshit!” at that Supernova hit, though perhaps I should have done same when Cloud won the match in one bullshit attack…again.

Oh, Sephiroth surely is the greatest villian. That is why he jobs all the goddamned time. :looney:

Awesome footage there. Really looked like something out of Advent Children.

It was better, in every way except graphics and sound for obvious reasons.

WOOOOO!! Epic shit!!!

Same here…I was like ‘WOOOOOWWW…’ as Cloud’s health bar was draining. That shit is ridiculous. But you knew the way that match was going to end was enevitable…regardless of how bad ass or how great Seph is…He’s always going to lose that match lol. I can just hear him crying now…

Seph: AGAIN?..Jesus Christ man! Can the writers cut me some slack!?

Edit:

I knew it did some damage but I didn’t know it did THAT much damage. If Super Nova does damage like that all the time and Seph can combo into it like that…I think I can hear the Smash ban flags going up lol.

From a graphics and perspective, I agree. Story and setting, not sure I agree.

I didn’t want to be the one who said it. Same guy led both teams though, so we can’t really call it ripping off.

Why is this in Fighting Game Discussion? This isn’t even a fighting game…

Wow you’re dumb

You know…I get reeeeally tired of some of the stupid distinctions of ‘what is a fighting game’ ya know?

For me…If it’s at least 2 people squared off in an area and they’re beating the shit out of each other (with at least 2 human players able to take control of opposing sides) regardless of HOW it’s done…it’s a fighting game. It may not be done well and it may not be done in the way how YOU like it but it’s still a fighting game none the less.

‘At the end of this day…One shall stand…One shall fall’

No it’s a music game.

Whatever, this game is gonna flop like Castlevania Judgement anyways. Mindless button masher with pretty Final Fantasy characters. Just like Ehgeriz.

Place your bets on how long it takes for this guy to get banned.

And Dissidia is going to sell a metric fuckton, that much is all but guaranteed.

interesting game.

I’m hoping the FFVI characters end up top teir… Yeah that’s my Bias talking. Was going to import this but don’t have the cash until after the hollidays

Have you played Judgement? Besides, Ehgeriz wasn’t horrible as far as fighting games go.

RE: Cloud vs. Sephiroth

I really hope that fight was done with two bulit-up characters and that OVER 9000 damage Supernova isn’t standard. That’s fucking retarded if it is.

Especially since according to Japan, Tidus is just as bad if not WORSE than Seph in his ability to kick the shit out of everybody.

lol the inevitable cloud vs septh match

this shit needs to come out soon, tired of watchin’ trailers

The entire premise of the game is one-vs.-one dueling. The objective is to drain your opponent’s health before he drains yours.

I was going to make a huge list of games that follow this idea, and ensure that every single Capcom fighter was on that list, but I’m lazy, so I’ll just say:

And leave it at that.

That’s unfortunately not that surprising since Final Fantasy X was the first game in the series to get a sequel, even before FFSephiroth. Fanservice > professionalism, though I hope the bias won’t be as egregious as I feel to be in Brawl at times. (Although that’s an entirely different discussion.)

Besides, he’s Meg Ryan: he has guardian angels watching over him as long as he doesn’t run into a truck while on a bicycle.

I’d imagine much more money and time went into Dissidia than Judgement.

It’s much flashier and seems to have had a ton of effort put into it.
