Final Fantasy Dissidia thread. Sequel announced!

I mean yeah isn’t there?

I don’t see Terra dual-wielding in those shots. I see her portrait has her with a sword and I see she has what appears to be a knife by her side, but I don’t see dual-wielding in those shots.

 • In the Customization Menu within the game, there are several newly revealed systems.

 • You can equip a weapon, a glove, a helm and a piece of armor in the Item menu. Equipment will alter your stats which include HP, CP, Drive, Attack, Defense and Luck.

 • CP = Capacity Points. The amount maximum CP you have determines how many and what Abilities you can equip.

 • Battlelize (?) is an option in the Customization Menu that displays special conditions or actions in battle whereby if you pull it off you get bonus items and/or materials. Materials can be exchanged in the Shop Menu for Rare Items.

 • The Mission Menu in the Customization Menu displays a challenge (like an achievement I suppose, the example given is ‘Successfully execute a HP Attack 50 times’). Whenever you complete the Mission, you will be rewarded with a Rare Item, and another Mission will be available.

 • There is a Chocobo in the sidescrolling 16-bit window below your stats in the Customization menu. This is a sort of minigame. The Chocobo will scroll along as you complete battles, and it can pick up items along the screen as it passes them as well as provide bonus experience points and so on.

 • A new evasive system is also revealed where you can defend against an opponent’s EX Burst by tapping O to balance this vertical bar. Not sure how it works exactly, but it seems timing based and can reduce the damage you take from EX Busty attacks significantly.

 • Main menu options include: Story Mode, Quick Battle, Multiplayer Mode, PP Catalog, Museum, Player Data Settings, and Options.

 • Story Mode is the game’s main campaign mode, Quick Battle allows you to pick a character and play non-story battles like a fighting game. You can use data from the Story Mode in Quick Battle.

 • Multiplayer Mode allows two players to challenge each other over ad-hoc. PP Catalog allows you to unlock Alternate Costumes and Battle BGMs by spending PP that you gain in Story Mode and Quick Battle mode.

 • The Museum allows you to replay movies from the Story Mode that you’ve seen, as well as tunes you’ve unlocked in the PP Catalog. Player Data settings allows you to change the player name, and other player settings. The Option menu allows you to change camera settings, and select Data Install options.

 • The Data Install feature supports 3 levels of install: 245meg, 373meg, and 528meg. The more you install, the shorter the load times will be.

info comes from the latest famitsu

Wow, a PSP game that lets you install a portion of itself on your memory card. Cool.

Not sure I like this system of reducing EX bursts. If I manage to cleanly hit someone with a move, I kinda want them to get hit with the move, y’know?

i’ve never been a fan of “reduce damage” systems (yeah mb, that’s gay as fuck)

but

EX Bursts seem to do MASSIVE damage (we’re talking giant enemy crab here), so it seems alright

i think the source of the problem honestly is how huge the “break bonus” is

No release date yet?

Much as I hate to admit, I’ve been lurking around GameFAQs forums for more info about the game.

And here is that more info from one of the posters there (a “Shin Glacier” or something).

#2 of 3:

And the third new scan:

I’m sure it’s December.

I was just gonna post these pics. I’m laughing at Terra’s silly boots and SCIV Amy-sized sword, but other than that it’s a sweet picture. Looks like Terra isn’t the “lifeless” Slave Crown version everyone expected from her art, she’s got plenty of personality and expression from what I can tell (such as hiding behind Onion Knight, lol).

It would also appear she can fly even without Trance. Which is awesome.

Now all I need is for them to show Cloud and I’ll be happy. I’ve been hearing rumors about him and Cecil taking on Golbez, that would be fucking awesome.

All I want is to see a screen of Kefka battling Sephiroth, and I will fangasm about it. No homo.

No infrastructure at all? :\

I was really hoping to avoid XLink Kai.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Update:

not sure if there’s anything in here that hasn’t been covered already

EX System Tutorial:

That video is also on the Dissidia site (and much clearer there than on YouTube). It’s the only new thing on the site, though.

From the videos, it seems that everybody in this game can “fly”, what with the super floatiness on just about every action.

this is the only thing making me want to buy a new psp over a new DS

Getting this game and my psp fixed just to play as Zidane.

HOLY…TGS video up on the official site.

Squall vs. Seph.
Firion vs. Jecht.
Tidus vs. Kuja.
Terra vs. Ultimecia.

Watch it. FUCKING AWESOME.

EDIT: On reviewing, it’s actually Firion fighting Jecht. Still awesome.

…wow…I hope Square is ready to clean up the mess that their fanboys are making right now…
