As for Nomura’s Terra… I’m in the minority here, but I don’t like it. I never liked Amano’s Terra to begin with. And it’s not just the hair color (though I really prefer the green hair). Nomura’s Terra looks too… sad. And yes, I’m aware that she was sad in like 85% of FF6, but she’s also a former elite soldier who could equip heavy gear and weaponry despite her size, and I was hoping for a bit more… formidability out of the picture.
That all said, I understand that Terra is Amano’s favorite character, and Nomura is trying to draw Amano’s versions of the character, so nuts to me. She’s my favorite Final Fantasy hero so I tend to hype myself up a bit too much for any possible appearances she has. I hope she has a sword though and doesn’t just fight Lina Inverse style.
I personally always envisioned Terra to look that way. She’s pretty lonely throughout the game and doesn’t really scream “assertive” (evidenced by the way Sabin and Celes had to get her ass in gear before she stepped up in the WoR). I don’t think she was ever supposed to look like she can fuck you up, she just happens to you know…be able to fuck people up.
Her look often reminded me a lot of Rosa in FFIV. Rosa doesn’t look or even act that threatening, but you go after Cecil and you bet your ass she’ll put 10 arrows in your face.
EDIT: Gameplay footage of Cloud and Terra would rock right about now. Come on TGS, someone had to have gotten something, even cut-scenes would be nice.
Looks good, but I’ll probably just end up pirating it. If it’s good enough I’ll go out and buy a legit copy. Why do I do this you ask? Because if I like it enough I’ll support them, if not FUCK THEM I’m keeping my money AND YOUR GAME!

This shit might also quell the storm of imminent Fangirl-made Firion/Squall/Zidane yaoi fanfiction by introducing a female of the species on the good guy side (Terra), meaning hetero can THRIVE, if for a little.
I’m not, fuck that. I want to see Terra **and **Cloud beat the shit out of some other villain, like say, Ultimecia. Or Cloud curbstomping Kefka, that would be great.
Hearing that Cloud throws down against Golbez made me go :wow:, I’m not even gonna lie. Squall vs. Seph is gonna be the shit too, hopefully Squall fucks him up.
In the second preview, they showed a bit of Warrior of Light vs. Squall, so while the heroes probably “aren’t” supposed to fight each other story-wise, they apparently can.
Same with the villians, of course, but I don’t anyone expected honor among thieves.
That’s my beef as well…having to buy a PSP to play this…:sad:, and I was hoping that it would have came out for the PS2, so that I could have access to it. However, if I grip the handle and don’t buy the PsP, I can always play it from my cousin, since he usually gets bored with any PsP game he buys within the first week.
However, Terra being in it and with blonde hair doesn’t surprise me, considering that within the FFVI cgi trailer for Anthology for the PSX, she was made with blonde hair, so it was to be expected.
However…we haven’t seen gameplay for like…Cloud, Terra, Kefka, and especially Sephiroth, considering Sephiroth was announced on like, Day #1 and yet all I’ve seen of him so far is cgi shots, and small brief in-game scenes where he’s speaking. Hopefully with the release of Cloud and Terra now, that we’ll finally get to see some Terra vs Kefka and Cloud vs Sephiroth.
I’m going to try to hold out too, I guess. I’m just so frustrated that all of these games that look like I will really enjoy are coming out for the handhelds. I don’t want them on handhelds, I want to play them on my television. /pout
I’m pretty sure sony probably either paid or influenced square to put this on the psp. Psp needs some titles…so I understand that…but there’s no way I’m buying a psp for this game…I can only think of a few titles that would be a must buy for me on the system and the it’d be sitting to the side collecting dust while i’m playing my ds. I hope it ends up like the grand theft auto series and sells well but doesn’t sell quite well enough to satisfy so they port it over. 1v1 will have to either be changed to be split screen or online I imagine though.
Its the PS3 that needs titles. There is no dearth of good games on the PSP. Hell I have to pick and choose between what I want to play.
By the way, its totally possible to connect your PSP to your PC > You can get display on your monitor and most importantly, use any peripheral that is compatible with the PC. There was a thread on neoGAF about it which I can’t find at the moment. If anyone is interested I’ll look harder.
