My concern was not only for the balance implications of time manipulation mechanics, but also how jarring they might look and potentially IRL time consuming they might be. Isaac scared me just as much as Aeon, though I expect Isaac would be more limited to warping/rewinding his position around the screen and not so much his opponent
I expect the time mechanics would grant exceptions to IPS, too:
Ground combo, launch, hit one, hit two, activate wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, hit two(take 2), hit one(take 2), back at post launch, insert different jump attacks, restand, hit this, hit that, activate ground wibbly wobbly, hit that(take 2), different hit, special, DHC (maybe into time manipulating character #2; hopefully into some move that only causes damage and not more static combo spectating for your opponent)
And god forbid Aeon gets to do shit like undo damage for herself or her opponent. I’d rather SF4 be the undisputed king of tournament schedule hogging.
Wouldn’t that be KoFXIII? I mean, I really like that game, but that shit takes a while.

So, you dislike Aeon based on a bunch of baseless assumptions, more or less? Seriously, none of those things are even remotely suggested by anything that the devs have said, and a lot of your extrapolations are already in the game; I doubt time stuff would be more “jarring” than Peacock’s reality manipulating cartoon attacks, or basically everything Double does, among other things. IPS already has issues as well, though what you described does not even sound like something that would be a problem with it, since her moves are still just moves, and should therefore be detected as with anything else. Even if it is “wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff”.
As for time-consuming to make, that’s already silly since Squigley and Big Band are coming first so no matter who we get it won’t be for months, but Eliza has two forms that will need to be animated for all their moves, while Minette has a bunch of customers appearing for her attacks, so Aeon’s not even the right person to aim that complaint at; Minette may only be “as bad” as Aeon with regards to extra stuff, but Eliza as I understand her would require at least twice the animation of a normal character, which means that time is not a valid complaint for an “anyone but Aeon” stance.
Really, nothing you have said sounds like a good argument, or even something remotely based on information we’ve actually been presented rather than something you fabricated to justify the stance you have already adopted. Really, if you don’t like the character, just say you don’t like her; making up a bunch of nonsense just makes you look silly.

I didn’t mean time consuming as it pertains to development requirements, but rather in play. My apologies for the misunderstanding.
It seems to me that there are only so many ways to implement time manipulation in the context of a fighting game. My concerns were based on those that I could imagine. These anticipated implementations may be completely different from the ones the devs actually come up with if Isaac and Aeon make the cut, as you pointed out. But I believe they remain within the realm of possibility, so I’m afraid my concerns will persist until history proves me incorrect.
