Filia Basics & Combo Thread - Bad Hair Day!

This is my go-to BnB, works in SDE and current beta. Adjust the ending based on how you see fit.

I cant seem to get the dash cancel from the HK hairball to work. What’s the trick to it?

Use this, it has way better damage, way better resets, responds better to resets (the majority of damage is frontloaded to the first air series), and has greater positioning control.

Be forewarned, there’s a really couple tight links in there.

If you hit dash during the end of an airball, you queue up the dash to happen instead of the recovery frames. The trick is realizing that you have about 1-5 frames to link a normal during that dash, depending on the normal.

Solo Filia here. Been loving the PC SkullGirls so far. Haven’t played in about a year, but I thought I’d share one of my corner BnBs. Tell me what you think. This works on all characters, I believe, with differing timings on certain things, of course.

As a sidenote, this is with a damage ratio of 1.0. I suppose the damage isn’t that high and it does start with a jump-in, but I was just happy I came up with it on my own. This game is really, really fun with how freeform the combos are.

EDIT: The damage will fluctuate with how many hits you land with her multi-hit moves, so 5209 is just a sample of what I get. Sometimes less damage happens (maybe more).

So this is a pretty basic question, but does anyone have any tips on what to do after a Gregor Samson from the ground? I’m trying to connect it with a ground dash -> st.HP, but I almost always whiff. Is there a trick to the spacing or the timing of the dash / HP, or do you guys tend to follow up with something different?

And yes, I do realize that doing an air Gregor Samson will give me more time to correct my spacing / timing, but I want to be able to do this from a ground-based super since 1) that will let me follow up during the times when I DO do it on the ground, and 2) if I can do it from a ground-based super, then the air-based super should be easier

While that is definitely a way more optimal BnB the point of the one I put in the OP (and my post) is to be universal and a decent place to start. Remembering different variations of the same combo for each member of the cast is frustrating for someone who just wants to pickup Filia and play

It’s intended purely for advanced players. The variations are actually pretty intuitive if you understand what’s changing and why (2 unique hit boxes, 3 unique weight classes, 1 character who floats before falling). Under no circumstances did I insinuate that this was for everybody.

It is, however, incredibly optimized, which is what was requested. And besides, Filia’s combos already are heavily influenced by enemy weight. Welcome to Skullgirls.

Pobega, for your bnb on the first post I realize you say adjust the combo as you see fit–wouldn’t it make more sense to do the HP version of updo before Fenrir? The cancel to Fenrir on first hit of updo is so strict so if you miss you get the extra frames of the multi-hit of HP updo, also the first hit of HP is 100 more dmg than LP (before) so assuming you do the cancel correctly right then I tested and it’s more dmg… am I missing something or did you just come up with that combo on the fly and I’m overanalyzing lol?

I keep traveling OVER the training dummy when doing the J-lp, j-mp, j-mk, airdash cancel J-mp part of the combo in the OP. Why is the opposing Filia falling so fast? Am I simply doing the combo to slow or waiting to long? Im pretty new to skullgirls if that helps at all. I feel like the timing on this combo is like EXTERMELY tight, but it could also be cheap controller issues (I feel like my controller is not accepting numerous inputs when they are done simultaneously, I’m playing on PC and using a random 3rd party controller).

I’m kinda a noob at this game but how’s this
