I’m starting to build up a collection nowadays and my biggest annoyance is finding somewhere to put them all. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestion on display cases? I’d like to have everything still in view since I’m really proud to look at all mine. I’m sitting around 15 or so with a few more coming up I’m working on but they’re all spread out on shelves and tables and look terribly unorganized. I’m kinda curious if they’re any display stands specifically to show off many sticks.
I put up a glass-encased bookcase for mine at one point. They work well.
I had one similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-94835721-Windowpane-Blu-Ray-Espresso/dp/B0035HSHBY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1355430476&sr=8-2&keywords=bookcase+with+glass+doors
But it didn’t have the bars on the glass.
Haha, I’ve been starting to think of this.
If you have an Ikea near you I would recommend get their Billy or Besta cases. They come in single shelf and double, you can also buy additional adjustable shelves.
If you can find one of those $50 off coupons it comes in handy. Here’s an example, sorry about the huge pic I’m terrible at spoiler tags.

Hell with the spoiler tags that’s a glorious room and should be proudly displayed.
Are each of those cubes modular with glass panel fronts?
(And where are they from?!? I browse ikea a lot but never seen them before)
These are the double Bestas

I don’t think Ikea carriers the same doors anymore but the ones I listed should work just fine.
Oh! They’re individually sold doors. Makes sense.
Thank you for the links!
(Time to get the tape measure to see if they fit in my place lol)
that is awesome, although I don’t think I’d be able to sleep in that room, fearing that Fat Fishy-alien-turtle lookalike would all of the sudden come to life, LOL
Tell me you did not just disparage ooggie boogie.

If you just want something to store them on, don’t care about aesthetics, and want something cheap there’s these from IKEA http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40103727/?query=HYLLIS . I’ve got my sticks, art supplies, and other ransom stuff on them, in my room.
If you get a bunch of them, some long screws, and a drill you can apparently do something like this http://www.ikeahackers.net/2010/08/custom-wall-of-shelvingcheap.html .
Looks like I’m saving up for those ikea stands. Those are perfect. Props on that awesome room!
lol its that his name, that is one ugly MOFO, he’d be the perfect character for a Horror movie, where comes to life only to hunt infants wanting to steal their soul, lol
… You’ve never seen “A Nightmare Before Christmas”?
Thanks to the OP for starting this thread, especially since it has many applications outside of arcade sticks!
Inspiring set up!
Couple of observations/questions:
The cases on the right look like single cases with the larger doors, pretty straightforward…but the case on the left…is that a modified double case with no center partition, glass shelves and full length glass doors? all from Ikea? The only thing I could find was a glass top panel that could possibly be used as a shelf.
And I’m curious as to what your lighting set up consists of…Inreda LEDs?
Thanks for sharing, Ive been wanting to bring my collection out from the closet(s)/garage, but haven’t due to many 4-legged roommates.
nope, I wasn’t born in the US, so most of the stuff you or anyone who was born in the US watched as kids I didn’t. I was probably watching something else, like Thundercats, Saint seiya and a few others.
The setup on the left is the Billy Bookcase with glass doors, it comes with wooden shelves but they can be replaced by glass one.

It’s worth tracking down, if you can. Pretty good, and seasonal at this point.
Not enclosed (dust… sigh) but I’ve been using these:
for my displays at my place as I’ve got weird, narrow corners that don’t have enough room for large displays.
I wall mount using rubber coated screw hooks, often called ladder or pipe hooks. Normally you use them in a garage or show to house a stack of PVC pipes, lumber, ladders or sometimes skis and snowboards. Installing requires you to know how to mount a screw hook, but its a easy process the internet can teach you. I got the idea from a friend because its how the gun show he works at mounts guns to the wall.
