My fightstick (Mad Catz SFxT edition) lights up for a brief second when plugged into my PC. after then it goes dark (no input etc). When I plug in a wired Xbox 360 controller it lights up for the same amount of time and then shows the first player quarter circle and works great. Is my stick broken? I have never used this fightstick for this PC before.
If it helps, I have never used this fight stick with this PC before. But in my old computer it was a plug and play since I have plugged in a Xbox 360 controller previously for the drivers.
When I go to the Mad Catz website to download the drivers it asks for me to plug in my fight stick and it doesn’t allow me to move onto the next step until doing so. But I do not know if my product is included in the 4 drivers they have (ALPHA, TE2, TE2+, TES+) I tried all 4 and they do not work.
I doubt this will help, but try using a USB hub, or better yet, a powered one of you have one. I recall a few little with older ps3 madcatz controllers getting them to work on PC this way, don’t know why that worked though.
Did your computer say anything about finding new hardware the first time you plugged it in?
Use whatever you have access to. If you want to buy one to test it, I’d get the cheapest one available. You may end up needing to replace the pcb, unfortunately.
Still having issues, I got a USB hub and no luck. I plugged my fight stick into my laptop and it works no problem at all. So the problem is my desktop’s motherboard. Is there any suggestions on what I can do? Just really shocked because my XBOX360 controller works fine but my fightstick does not
Replace that pcb. A zero delay pc/ps3 pcb with .110 connectors is dirt cheap (about $10), simple to install (no soldering), and will definitely work with your pc.
Do you see the fightstick in the device-manager (if you are using windows) ? Either way try updating the drivers of the stick with the windows default xbox 360 controller drivers. Search for them from the list of drivers on the pc. I got a SFxT stick for xbox360 once and it worked out of the box without downloading any mad catz specific drivers.
The older Mad Catz Xbox 360 controllers should be able to install using the default xbox 360 drivers.
If necessary, when installing the stick, force the use of Xbox 360 drivers rather than allowing windows to auto pick.
