Hi! I’m a researcher from Finland, currently working on a small study about fighting games with a colleague. I’m new here, so I hope this is the right topic. If it’s not, deepest apologies, and could someone point a better place for this?
So, we’re looking for fighting game players to share their stories in order to better know how fighting games are integrated in their lives. The below questions are guidelines, but need not be strictly followed. You can skip any question and 100% improvise with your answer if you feel like it:
- How did you end up becoming a fighting game player? Tell your story.
- Tell about your current relationship with fighting games. How much do you play and in what style?
- In addition to playing the game(s), what other fighting game related activities you do?
- How has your relationship with fighting games changed over the years?
- What’s the role of the community and physical spaces in fighting games for you?
- How long do you think fighting games will be a significant part of your life? If you know friends who have quit, tell about them.
You can post your reply in the thread or PM if you don’t wish to share it openly. All answers are treated anonymously. We are looking to publish the study in Digital Games Research Association Conference 2018. If you have questions, I’ll be happy to answer. A big thanks in advance!
Matti
