For those interested on learning JJBA, this is the best (only?) JJBA resource in English. Still pretty damn incomplete, but if you have some FG experience you can figure out a lot of stuff on your own

how’s the input delay on dc emulation i haven’t used it in ages
I meant like programs. Is it viable to play on pad because I don’t quite have a stick yet. So on and so forth.
The ability to execute a string of commands almost identically to original input is something I have. woo me.
awesome thanks for the link!
my votes are for jojos, lb2 and tobal 2
If you’re good on pad, I suppose
The emulator that comes with GGPO (FBA) should be all you need
tobal 2!!!
its so ridiculous. Fuck tekken, tobal 2 is boss!
Ok. So im just now realizing the fatal flaw with the Sega Dreamcast CP. How many years late am I?
EDIT:
WIENNAR!!! [/doa announcer voice]
Jojo’s
Vampire Savior
as far as the third one…go with whatever.
You should play JoJo’s 3 times as much.
I’d love to learn CvS2, but I’ve never met anyone that’s even heard of it.
For some Reason I just can’t get into Tekken… I hate the way it plays, I feel constricted in the movement, But I’ve always wanted to learn… Soul Calibur definitely owns Tekken for me personally. Darkstalkers is Ill, and KOF is Ok, pretty much same gameplay as SF
you gotta play jojo…cuz its not available as a port for anything newer than psx. and i highly doubt that it ever get released on a classic compilation disc of someone…
last blade 2 kicks ass! fatalities.
vampire savior…or motw.
jojo came out on dc as well
I wouldn’t say I always WANTED to learn it, but since I never had anything against Tekken and I felt sorry for the handful of people who play it in Orlando, I decided to give it a more sporting chance and take a more serious shot at learning it. I never had anything against Tekken and I never really got most of the hate it gets, either, so I decided to buckle down at least for a few weeks and see how far I’d get.
It’s a very different game than what I’m used to, and it definitely can’t be played well by intuition (this really is a game where you can’t slack on knowing the frame data, you have to burn that shit into your brain so that you can pull out the best punish as fast as you can), but with a little work it’s fairly fun. I’m experimenting with turtle Paul/Lili for their relative simplicity, and I like how it’s shaping up. The only things that still weird me out are movement (I still can’t BDC properly, although between staircasing, sidewalking, and Hayashida with Paul I’m getting better at spacing out) and the getup systems; I keep ending my siderolls with backrolls by accident because I want to block on wakeup so badly. It’s weird, and I doubt I’ll go to the tourney level with it, but I think it’s definitely one of my more promising side projects.
As for GGPO/2DF (or whatever it’s become now)…I’d gladly put more time into it and the games avilable on it if I wasn’t stuck on my parents’ crappy DSL. As it stands, trying to make a regular thing out of GGPO would be rather futile on my part because I’d lose access to at least 50% of competition because I couldn’t host. (To add additional inconvenience, my ISP also provides complications in connecting to EFnet and registering for sites like Dustloop. Kind of a perfect storm of exclusion given the vastly different crowds those three Internet media tend to attract…) When/if my Internet situation changes, I’ll gladly give it another shot, but for now, I don’t really have any burning compulsion to deal with it. I’m not jonesing for '98/Alpha 2 that badly.
Unless CvS2 suddenly and magically gets emulated and integrated into GGPO, of course. THEN I’ll get desperate.
CvS2
Virtua Fighter (4 evo especially)
Tekken (an updated 4 would be awesome. but 6 too)
Vampire Savior/Guilty Gear/JoJos
I suppose that’s sorta the order of preference.
I wanted to learn KOF XI but didn’t try to since finding out the scene for it is kinda dead now.
If there’s no scene, you create one.
Finally someone who gets it lol. :clapdos:
Also, to block on wakeup simply tap up(to get straight up) then back(to block), or d/b(to block low). I guess it does take some getting used to. But just the whole getting up in general is situational. You MUST know. Or guess lol.
You’re just not looking, when in fact there is a huge KOF scene. Last I checked before SF 4, SM North Mall, SM North Edsa, SM Cubao etc. has a thriving KOF scene.
KOF community was a lot bigger than Guilty Gear.
Don’t say that we lacked the community, when in fact you stopped going to the arcades.
I agree but at the same time, its easier said than done.
