One reason is that Data East did a port of SF2. And Capcom believed they stole code for Fighter’s History, but the board architecture is completely different from the cps1. So with no proof of stolen code Capcom based it on the game design and character design. The courts thought this was just childish and threw the case out. And actually Data East was ready to counter sue since they have the rights to Karate Champ which SF1 was based off of.
There was a scrapped ssf4 character design Karate Clown that was to play like a mixture between Vega and Blanka with a projectile. I wonder where Capcom got that from.
Clown can’t be in any other game only FHD!! That laserdisc vid is a nice find. Glad to see people still getting into FHD. Also FHD was ahead of it’s time, that’s a fact like dialupsucky mentioned.’
Edit: I just noticed something in the vid. Ox’s normals do chip damage lol. He still sucks.
Oh another thing the higher ups of Capcom that wanted to sue not the creators of sf2. Hell, the designers actually liked this game there was a weak point system in X-men cota for a little bit.
Man, I haven’t been in the Karnov room for a while and I was really confused by all the 3S talk and not being able to spectate any games, lol. I eventually figured it out…trolling the 3S players in chat is almost as fun as flipping fools with double germans. Anyway, if anybody sees me in the room, I’m defs there for FHD, not 3S.
