Fighter's Console: PS3 or 360?

Hyper Fighting isn’t even on PSN, what are you comparing it too, or even talking about?

He is explaining how games on PSN dont support people who drop but games on XBLA (an example game, sf: hyper fighting) gives the dropper the loss.

As much as I’d like to be able to put PSP as a viable candidate on that list, I know it’d be a lie; but I’ll throw it in here as an honorable mention anyway…

Which PSN games have this problem? I only have played Battle Fantasia and a little bit of Tekken online and haven’t had a problem with droppers yet. I honestly could care less about a ranking system, without them we wouldn’t even have droppers, but still am curious which games have this problem.

doa4 has that problem

why ps3 over xbox?

i clicked ps3 by accident… meant to click xbox.

DOA a joke? thats a such a heavy conclusion given that the thread starter may like it as anybody else could. lets try to guide this guy and let our inner Fanboy shouts outta this. Battle Fantasia is already coming for the 360 and even if the system sells shitty in Japan it is somewhat still being supported by fighters, weird shrumps and rpgs so lets not write off the thing because “the ps3 is japanese so its automatically better”, I’m not saying it couldn’t be but that’s not happening just so easily in reality so I think we should pay more attention instead of drawing conclusions just to quickly. And sorry but I still don’t see how clearly superior is the ps3 to the 360 in terms of fighting games, I tend to believe some people confuses PS2 with PS3 and I don’t think they are automatically the same thing (the transition wasn’t as smooth as lets say psx to ps2).

I’m not saying go 360, but be careful to make your decision and do it for the right reasons, not because "its ps3 so it should be like ps2"or because “its Japanese”…some people try to make it seems that since the 360 sells poor on Japan it doesn’t get those kinda games but strangely it does, so if you go PS3 I hope its because it has more attractive offerings to you, I’m cool with that honestly, but don’t write off the 360 just that easily.

Whats up Mr. Swamp, why werent you at MWC? I agree with the others PS3…

It doesn’t really matter about Japan not liking the 360 though. Japanese companies like money. Microsoft doesn’t even have to REALLY moneyhat those kind of games. If you are gonna focus on Japan only, you will put your shit out on the wii. PS3 is not doing all that great in Japan either so in order to make that money you have to go worldwide. Only the stubborn (Square Enix), the PAID (Konami), or the really really small niche companies (Success) can afford to stay platform exclusive. The 360 does not have to have a significant presence in Japan. The fact that worldwide it has a presence and that the lead fighter of the Generation (SF4) is coming to the system makes me think that the 360’s fighting game future will be just fine.

Also, if I recall correctly, a lot of these high end Japanese fighters have not even been announced for home consoles yet. Shit is still up in the air as far as the fighting game fan’s console of choice is concerned

ps2 > 360

yesssssss

Lot of arcade shooters are going to Japanese 360. Wouldn’t be surprised if the same were true for fighters.

Which would suck given that the PS3 is region free, and Japanese xbox developers ALWAYS region lock the games.

As a Wiitard, I felt guilty not voting for it, but the Wii is only good for the VC and their first-party Nintendo games, none of which are fighters.
Right now, the best console for fighters is the PlayStation 2. The PS3 and the 360 are hot on its heels. 360 gets honorable mention because of Virtua Fighter 5 and the online services for Hyper Fighting and UMK3(<3). PS3 has backwards compatibility, plus it has DR to consider.

What’s up Dark Geese. I joined the Air Force shortly after last year’s MWC, and I just got stationed to Anchorage, AK a few weeks ago. Most likely, I’ll make it there next year, along w/ Evo2k9. Since there’s hardly any gamers up here, I’ll either jump online to train or study strats and youtube matches.

Both. XBox for XBL and PS3 for imports.

ps2 > ps3

also…

ps2 ? ps3

PS2 & Xbox for me…

What is GGPO anyways

It’s awesome, wrapped in bacon, and deep fried. Sprinkled with whores and crack.

Not playable online

yeah, ANY day now…they’ve been talking about samsho2 for over a year now it seems. Stick to stuff that is actually OUT, not vaporware.

If you’re saying that, you’ve never played it online. The lag in GG is BAD, downright worst of any fighter I can think of. Only reason to list that is because they have #reload on the xbox original downloads; if you want to include BC titles, PS3’s library of PS2 and PS1 fighters kicks its ass and pisses on the ashes.

Because the fighter’s we want to play are available for play only on Sony hardware; in the rare cases it is available on the xbox, the PSX one usually plays better (with few exceptions: VF5 being the only one I can think of being better on Xbox ).

Funny part is, I actually own a 360, and don’t own a PS3. This isn’t fanboy-ism, just simple numbers. The Tekken series alone, from 1-5:DR, are Sony exclusive, and count more titles than the whole of Xbox exclusive fighters.

Now, you want to complain about the PSX D-pad, go right ahead. That thing sucks ass, and the Xbox360’s does as well.

ps3 = massive catalog

xbox 360 = people to play against

end thread.
