Dudes that doesn’t even own the fucking game but still coming to the boards to bash it… Honestly, you guys should consider doing something useful with your spare time.
i get what they’re doing with this new marketing strategy but i’d rather it be more straight forward so i know what i’m getting in to. if that means the old way in which they release a new version on disc with most of the content already in it, so be it. if they can find a way to make this new ftp-ish model to work, then great. as it is now it’s really embarrassing quality wise and is very frustrating.
What exactly isnt clear about it? The system itself is actually quite simple, but capcom still hastn delivered on their daily challenge system (“targets”).
If they had, there wouldnt even be a “FM balance problem”
Allow local VS to earn you fight money and it would make things infinitely better; same with battle lounges.
This game should be rewarding you for playing it as much as you can. They may take a hit, but keeping people engaged and constantly playing is way more important. I mean look at LoL, half the shit they do is to make sure you come back and play again. If you’re playing at any point in time it increases the chances of you playing with other people who’ve dropped dimes on the game.
But capcom DID make it quite clear that all gameplay related stuff will be free. So balance updates/ fixes/ new characters will be free.
Cosmetics such as costumes, colours, stages, titles etc are open to real money purchases.
That was known long before the game dropped.
The lack of modes and release dates IS an issue though and capcom even adressed their lack of communication and promised improvements… (we’ll see…)
I think what most people ‘irritated’ was the season pass. It looks like a lot of people bought it with reading about its content and now ‘demand’ more stuff for season pass owners, when it always was clear what the season pass would include:
The 6 characters and their first premium costumes. A stage (guiles I think) was later added as a bonus because of early difficulties with the shop. And that’s it.
Now people are going around demanding discounts and stuff… But that was never part of the deal…? THAT is confusing for me…
still doesn’t change that now that the hype is over this game is back to being ass if you’re playing online and want decent content to earn.
Edit: infact, while we’re at it, i dunno where you were, but a lot of people on twitter were ranting about how ass the top 8 was full of nashes and how fuudo put in all that work with Mika to get bodied by a nash that was struggling at first to keep up.
It’s fine the way it is. You get some stuff free. Fight money isnt real money. They cant pay their employees with fight money, cant pay for pro tour with fight money. here is a secret hack to unlock all 6 character in only 3 hours. Get a job that pays $10/hr. and work for three hours. They will give you a special type of fight money called Dollars that you can use to unlock the characters.
You’re right but what you didn’t factor in is daily challenges. They are not implemented yet, because they are not needed yet. The dilemma that you explained will never affect the game, because the challenges will be implemented before that happens. The question is how much time will be saved by doing the challenges, and we have to just wait and see.
Capcom Pro Tour isn’t an act of good faith, the purpose of all those tournaments is to promote and sell the game. Even though is fun to watch the competitions and all, as a non-member of the FGC i wouldn’t mind if those disappear in exchange for cheaper content. We paid $60 for the game after all.
