Coulda sworn someone said crapcom said everything in this game would be about to be bought with fight money and it’d never be p2p with dlc, but here we are with crapcom cup and stage of destiny being 10 damn dollars with no way to get it other than buying it.
The issue is people confuse what Capcom said too much. I don’t know why in the world people still think Capcom said ALL content will be free. They never, ever, said that. Gotta read out here so you don’t miss things like that.
They said all GAMEPLAY related content will be free. That means everything that IS NOT COSMETIC. Stages and costumes are purely cosmetic, they don’t add to the things you can do within the game. If you don’t like it, that’s on you but they are CLEARLY giving you what they said they would for free and no more than that. Making the Pro Tour stage 10 bucks is viable for them since they mentioned part of the proceeds will go CPT pot/funding. Which means people will buy it as a donation to the tour. I already bought it on both PC and PS4. Haven’t spent any money on season pass and only bought 2 costumes so didn’t kill me.
They just need to hurry up with these daily targets (if that’s still in the plans) and add like some double FM days or something and should be good. Buying all the characters with FM is still pretty feasible for now.
For now yes, but in the long run that will hardly be the case. And by long run my guess is next year already. I think these targets will be barely helpful, probably a boring task for 1k each day (365k a year, which is slightly less than enough for 3 chars and a stage).

a damn stage is 10 dollars and crapcom cup title and some costume alts are like 3 or 4 dollars each.
cosmetic or not, they blundered a lot with this game and the least they can do is give everyone a chance to get anything free even if they wanna overshoot the fight money price on the product like they’re doing everything else.

Still better than constantly having to pay for semi sequels and keeps everyone under the same hood for the game. Cosmetics aren’t cheap in a lot of games these days any way. Cosmetics usually start as premium then get sales/bundles later on.
They’re not going to keep people around long with barely any FM earned from playing and not much to buy in the shop.
Where’s the intro or win outro stuff in the shop? Different fb colors?
We got colors you can’t preview before buying, only story costumes so far too grab with fm, stages are great, characters are great, titles are lame and poorly organized, profile art is lame.
The problem with this fucking shitty game is that it treats, or eventually will treat, itself like a F2P game with no initial investment, except it costs $60 retail, which this garbage heap of a game isn’t worth EVEN CLOSE, instead of being free with unlockable in-game content via massive grind. Even IF Capcom’s supposed logic behind it is that there will be no future editions like with SF4 ergo it’ll balance itself out since all in all if you were stupid like me and bought the whole SF4 series even though you didn’t like it, it was in total close to $200, it’s still fucking retarded and they can go and shove it. I’m glad that folks have begun to see the light in that to influence Capcom not to continue business like this they have to stop buying their crap since apparently SF5 sold like shit last month and has been a flop in total, pray to lord Umbasa that they will get the hint and just give us everything for free with 60 bucks and a hour’s worth of a grind though story and survival mode.
Capcom should of just released a complete game.
All these (old) characters… I ain’t paying for that when it should of been included with the game, which I paid full price for.
I rarely play this game as it is, I just wanna play around with Balrog and Urien when he comes out, but Capcom isn’t getting another cent out of me, and I don’t play enough to grind for fight money.
You should be able to accumulate it in battle lounge. Don’t give me “you can abuse the system that way” stuff because people are already just putting turbo on their light kick button and leaving casual matches running while they sleep and shit.
I thought battle lounge didn’t reward fight money, just ranked?
To be honest, i’d rather pay 30 bucks for every lil SUPER street fighter V turbo cuz at least then i’ll have like my 6 or 12 new characters in the disc with no need for fight money, all the new stages, costumes and etc with bonus dlc content. hell it even comes on a physical CD. it’s basically what the season pass already is but isn’t digital and I can hold it and not wait half a year to get all of it.
in tf2 the whole thing about hats was anyone could get them and the only reason you couldn’t is if you missed the event. Then it got stupid and gave you certain hats exclusive when you bought certain games on steam but yet again - even then at least you could TRADE the stuff. You can’t even trade on here.

Don’t cut them any slack cause everyone is trying to get over on dlc and i swear i heard somewhere they wanted to be “fair” and make a game where you could get most of the content just by actually dedicating time to playing. cosmetic or not, it should still be backed. otherwise even saying that shit is a waste of all our time cuz half the dlc characters in anything that isn’t arc system works games are dlc cuz you just don’t feel like playing through and unlocking them yourself through story mode.
The fun part for a game supposed to have a lot of future DLC, is that many peoples probably don’t even unlock the current/past ones, because maybe next stuff will be cooler and you will not have FM and money for it

Daily challenge: ??? -> 5000 FM
Ranked win: 50 -> 200 FM
Story costume: 40.000 -> 20.000 FM
Stage: 70.000 -> 50.000 FM
Alt Stage: 40.000 -> 20.000 FM / 1.99$ -> 0.99$
Premium Costume: 3.99$ -> 2.99$

I mean it does. But that wouldnt be a smart buisness move if they know you blokes will give in and buy the stuff. Really nobody is going to grind 500,000 matches to be able to afford all the content that you can purchase with fight money.
I just wish they gave you real incentive to grind. Oh well.
Updated measurements:
Finding an opponent - 40 seconds on weekend, up to 2 minutes on the rest of the week
Establising a connection and loading into the match - 50 seconds
One full match - ~2 minutes
One full set of 3 matches - ~6 minutes
Going through results and loading into the main menu - 30 seconds
Total time required - ~7-9 minutes
I really hate this business model. They sold us a completely barebones game and it costs almost the same amount of money as the standalone game or grinding points for months to finish it. Shame on me for buying this game and the Season Pass. Even with the season pass, they can’t just give me the stages for free as well, even though they aren’t selling those for real money. Like, what the actual fuck.
Daily challenges is the way to go.
Why don’t they operate it the same way they operate your score in survival mode? Like, you earn more fight money if you end a round with an EX move, even more if you end it with a CA/Perfect. That would be reasonable and would make sense imo. But yea, they definitely need to increase the FM per match from freaking 50.
FM wouldn’t be so hard to earn if the Daily Challenges existed. And Daily Challenges would exist if Capcom would fix their shit.
Capcom should stop working on any and all DLC, CPT nonsense, etc. and take all their money and effort and FIX their servers.
The servers need to be perfect. That’s how this game survives…not by adding another bikini costume.
