That’s good to know. I was emotional. I wish the game taught you how to play. I’m honestly not sure how to go about it. At the very least, I don’t think Street Fighter 4 is for me.
You should stop focusing so much on combos. Just focus on using your normals and specials. Look up a handful of simple combos online and spend 10 minutes a day in training mode but don’t get worked up over it when you can’t land them.
I picked up Virtual Fighter 5 for very cheap, but I failed to realize how old it really was. With no online mode, it’s really useless even though I found it slightly better than DOA for my taste.
Holy shit though, BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend is cool. That’s the most comprehensive tutorial I’ve ever seen and perfect for me to start again and I like that you can use the R3 and L3 buttons for stuff too.
That tutorial was humorous and effective for me. I’m impressed. Even though I’ve played Guilty Gear games before and have previous experience in general with fighting games, this was fun.
I played a few more hours and even a bit of online, but it is dead. Looks like I will return this and wait for CP. I would like some assistance though because this is hard and I’m not sure how to start learning a character besides their moveset.
Thanks so much to everyone who gave suggestions and advice to help me find a fighting game right for me. If CP doesn’t work out, then I’m going to Tekken or waiting for the new Smash Bros.
Get the latest version of VF5 called final showdown online as a download. it has online play
Oh cool, I didn’t know that. Is it easy to get matches online? Do you think they will release a new VF this year?
SF4 is indeed the most balanced of the FG so it is worth it if you put the time and practice in. There are whole guides on getting started so look them up on the internet. Trust me, SF4 will be that game where you hate and love because of different situations but it is so much fun for me. The community are great offline as I have seen but online can be mixed between assholes and samaritans. You should just focus on the basics and keep yourself on the learning curve. Stay on Endless Battle and you’ll have a better experience of practice against different people with all their own styles. Totally agree with you about MvC btw.
Oh and never mash.
