Fighstick & Street Fighter IV on Mac

I apologize if this has been covered before but I couldn’t find a thread about it when I searched and couldn’t find any posts about it when I searched the “Noob Questions” Thread. I feel like this has been covered to death but unfortunately I can’t find the posts and so I decided to post this thread.

I have a MadCatz Tournament Edition S Fightstick for PS3. I spend a lot of time going back and forth between my place and my girlfriend’s and lately I’ve been bringing my brand new PS3 back and forth between her place and mine. It’s getting a little tedious and I was wondering if there was a way to run the PC Street Fighter IV game on my Macbook pro and use my Fightstick with it?

I know there’s also Street Fighter IV for the iPhone/iPad, would that work with a Fightstick? [If anyone is familiar with OnLive I was wondering if there was a way to use the Fightstick with that as well.] I have a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro and my GF has a brand new 13" Macbook Pro.

No for OSX. You need to install windows via bootcamp and install Street Fighter IV there. You failed to mention what graphics card your mac book pro came with. If you have the same Macbook Pro as mine, with the underpowered nVidia 9600 GS videocard. it will run the game like ass. If you have the newer ones with the Radeon 6770 then you should be good.

Also last I checked, the Macbook Pro’s used nVidia chipsets to drive usb. so your PS3 stick might not work properly either. PS3 TE have certain compatibility issues with certain chipsets. So you will have to look up the compatibility.

The iPhone and iPad version of Street Fighter IV/Volt is a butchered touch screen only port. It is basically a Gameboy Advance, Super Nintendo Donkey Kong Country rendered to sprite version of Street Fighter with Marvel Vs Capcom 3 simple mode controls.

In general if you want to play games you should not buy a Mac.
