I have to somewhat disagree with this part, it is deserved were already starting to see players who have been kicking a ball since they could walk but EA have chosen to turn it into a bigger deal than it has to be, that’s why it feels so forced. Like when Ellen Page came out as gay, I was like err…no shit, but she and people around wanted to make some sort political statement, as if its hard for a Hollywood celebrity to come out.

Essentially it would be like adding a women’s team to madden.

Now if it was something like tennis it’s a different story since the women there have proven themselves a equal draw to their male counterparts. The inclusion of a women’s team in this game feels unearned and purely motivated by politics.

Are you making the argument that women have sold as many tickets, got as much publicity and overall advanced and developed the game as much as the men have. all that matters is EA thought it was worth it for them to pay some people to include some more teams to the games roster. if they thought it was a good business decision to include my ayso team i played on when i was 7 its their prerogative. really has nothing to do with who has “earned” what.

The women don’t get as many viewers, they don’t sell as much, they don’t play as well and they don’t have as many fans. As stated before if not for tokenism then on what merit are the women justifying a spot. How many of the people who actually buy these games even watch women’s soccer. This is really fucking stupid. They are part of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association that’s how they’ve earned their place in the game.
