FGC club at CSU East Bay Hayward? Any FGC people there?

Hello everyone! so I think this is my first thread I actually made on here. Woot. Anyways I am wondering is there anybody out there in the SRK forums that goes to East Bay Hayward? I am a new transferring student and coming to the school this fall and I been thinking of making a FGC club. I recently found out today that Hayward has a gaming area which they called the Game Zone with PS3’s and Xbox 360’s. I am looking into possibly having a club in the Game Zone area to play fighting games. I also been thinking of setting up a stream, if all things goes well, for the club and everyone else that is curious to watch. I may or may not get some trolling in here, or less then kind words, but it would be pretty cool to start something like this at the campus.

(Sorry for remaking this thread, >,< dont hurt me for doing so!)

i don’t go there but i’m guessing it could be hard to find people on here that also go to your campus. maybe a better idea would be finding a room and just having local people come to play. i’m just throwing ideas out there since i live around the area.

I hear ya. I might be doing so, but not this fall. Oh wells, I start it the old fashion way, making a club, passing out flyers and hope i get enough to make a club out of it. I even made some custom background for the stream I set up there at the college ^^

just letting u guys kno wi just moved to hayward about a few days ago and i play 3s cvs2 and ssf4ae. if u guys wanna play lemme kno and we can either meet up or go to mlg or whatever u guys want but im down. but i just cant find a god damn reliable scene around here besides fgtv and all they play is dat mahvel

cool. will do. I see if this club thing will work at the college. would love to make it happen since i be going this fall

tight. just lemme kno wsup. hmu when u get into town and well meet up n get games in bro. but only as long as i dont have to call u claw master lol

I go to CSU East Bay although i am pretty much done there so i am not sure on any long term plans. I also have streaming equipment ready, so as long as there is internet i can stream/commentate for you. However its preferable to gather up people and see if theres any local interest before anything else.

If you are talking about GameZone Recreation, I also know some of the guys in there from way back in the days…(I think Batman77 on this forum is one of the head guys as well). If theres anything that you need help on, let me know. But the main problem is finding a good venue with internet.

I play CvS2 primarily, almost nothing else but if you were to play AE2012 or KoFXIII i wouldn’t mind that as well. Other games i am into are ST, and A2/3…

Great to know dude. Yea I tried to call the people there at GameZone but the person in charge wasn’t there at the time. I am trying to see if I can get the FGC club to be in the GameZone once a week there playing whatever games the club wants to grind on. It would be great if you brought your stream equipment man, I plan to start my soon as soon as I get my laptop from my FA money. Though i am kinda new to streaming, my set up will be poverty level when I start out xD. But yea it would be great if you can bring yours until I build up mines in the mean time. I plan to make the club and hopefully get enough people sign up at the college during Club Rush. If they do have club rush there, I am a new transfer student coming there this fall so I am still new to the college.

oh and the games I usually play is Marvel most of the time. I started getting into KoF 13, and I play Street Fighter AE 2012 every once in a while. Skullgrils too but I want to get back into that once PC version comes out.

My streaming equipment is almost godlike lol, just missing a few fine things here and there. We can get in touch sometime and talk about it if you like, but gathering interest in a good venue should be the most important right now.

I will talk to the guys at GameZone, show them the thread. I hope you guys play CvS2…lol!!

thanks man. Pretty excited now ^^

I’d be interested in coming out for sure if anyone finds a place to play nearby. I live in Fremont, mostly play a2/st/vsav/kof13 currently, trying to pick up cvs2. I’ve got a supergun I can bring out as well.

I’m interested. I live a few min away from CSU east bay but I only play marvel :looney: . I’d love to host an event/stream at my place as well if things don’t work at at the game center.

 I’m from Game-Zone Recreation which is a different group then the Game-Zone group from CSU east bay. As for the group I’m with we have hosted a lot of tournaments for years but recently we are having a real hard time finding a venue to host events. Right now our main focus is our Anime and Video Game convention called Kin-Yoobi con which is August 11th (Saturday) and August 12th (Sunday) at the Hilton Hotel in Newark, CA. Our website is kinyoobicon.com
We’ll be having tournaments for just about all of the main fighting games there SSF4:AE 2012, UMvC3, KoF13, Virtua Fighter5:FS, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, SFxT, Smash bros. Brawl, Soul Calibur5, Mortal Kombat and more at Kin-Yoobi con 2012 this year.

As for myself I play just about everything and I’m down to meet with people at any type of session.

ah okay. Yea I think people were a bit confused when I said Game Zone over at the CSU Hayward. Hayward has an area on campus full of consoles to use to play. I am still looking into if its still possible to host a club there every week.

oh sweet i am actually going to attend Kin-Yoobi con. quick question what consoles are you guys going to be running your tournaments on?

For those wondering this is the link to the Hayward Game Zone I am talking about. Thought they called the Game Cave.

I might transfer to cshayward, but probably not yet this semester. I live in union city and i really only play st and a bit of ae now. im gunna pick up ttt2 though when it comes out. I might go out to sessions but in reality my fire has kind of died down unless its for st.

I remember a couple years back trying to start something at CSUEB, the problem was…if you wanted to run anything you have to really go through all the red tape to set something up. Not only that, the fees are per hour to play and its students only. They don’t want anyone else in there. I have no clue if its still the same or not now though, it was a few years back.

I will see you at Kin Yobi as well, doing some streaming hopefully over there for the guys.

oh cool awesome. I be there for only one day, but I be there the Saturday of the convention. Yea from what I read it seems like it. for students its for free and for everyone else you have to pay a membership price. I find out more when I visit the campus and take the tour there and I ask about it when we visit the place. yea this thread was created to see if any other fellow students that go to the college will get a look at this and join the club. Would love to set this up but time will tell.

Sup guys, sounds like some cool ideas. I’m down to take part in it as well. I’m mostly in UMVC3 but love me some AE. I’ve actually been trying to get more in contact with the other local serious FGC members here in the east bay. I live in Union City and always try to have “gaming nights” at my place on free Saturdays (UMVC3, SSFIV, SFXT) when I’m not on the road with my band. Hit me up as I am super down to get more involved and aquatinted with all the other gamers out here in the 510 area. I’ll stay in touch. Shoot me a text and let’s run it back!! Ray C. 510-468-9626

Sounds awesome man! See my reply below and shoot me a text! Always trying to meet new FGC folks and meet up for casuals here in the bay! Ray (510)468-9626
