I’m always confused by this and how some people fit the stereo-type so fuckin’ well.
It’s shocking when you run into someone who fits the ‘typical gamer’ description so perfectly.
Working at an Arcade, it’s actually rare for me to run into anyone who seems be those ‘annoying gaming nerds’ or whatever.
But damn, when you see one, normally I’m not one to judge a book by it’s cover, but holy shit if they act like a duck, walk like a duck, sound like a duck, then fuck!
My PS2/DS/PSP collection are mostly games developed in the land of the rising bukkake cum.
My PS3 collection is like 85% games made in the west/europe. Developers have been pointing it out for a while, not just this guy, that Japan is fucking up this gen for the most part. The biggest problem is ridiculous development time on their games when compared to the West. Thankfully there’s still some great games coming from over there, Yakuza series staying great, Sega/Capcom/Namco/From Software/Suda 51 and Platinum* games are still, for the most part, pumping out great games that are just as good as their last-gen counterparts or in some cases even better. Then you have companies like Square-Enix who take years and years to release their games, and when they do finally come out, they’re fucking terrible and even worse than their last-gen counterparts even though they’re working with better hardware with more money+longer development time.
I wouldnt fuck a typical gamer either. But then im not a freakin’ homo so whatever.
Every time I have gone into a gamestop its just average dudes in there. The stereotypical gamer (fat, stinky, dirty, powder cheesy) dont go to gamestop, they order on amazon.
You’ll find asshats everywhere, zooming in on certain members of a community in order to say that that specific community as a whole is worse than humanity in general is inductive stupidity.
Biting the hand that is going to feed you is stupid.
Anyway I would have to agree with him even about gamers being the worst people. For example, a bioware writer who got flame by gamers all over the internet for her opinions about video game should place more importance on narrative.
The problem with everything nowadays is that everyone is afraid to speak there mind.
Givem a chance to swear and flip people off and they’ll quickly speak there mind then, but when its time to give a real opinion on why they think something sucks all kinda politics start coming out and a person is scared to say anything because facebook and the internet turn a OPINION into some nasty fact or twisted it to have more malice than it should. For instance what this guy is saying is probably twisted all out of context… Gamers are the worst kind of people when it comes to games, everyone of them think they know whats best and how the industry works. When in reality they just play alot of games.
Inafune has been saying that for the last 2-3 years now and how he had to sneak new IPs (Dead Rising, Lost Planet) into development because Capcom only wants to play it safe and keep making sequels to their cash cow (RE).
