During my progress I’ve noticed that Gen is a little tougher, and Rufus is a little easier. Zangief still requires a near-perfect match. Sagat is still a turd. Chargers are still a pain. Guile hasn’t really changed, but the worst Guile by far is a rushdown. I’ve only played one or two, and it was ugly. The knee is way underused, goes right into grab.
the difference is with df+Hk it puts the opponent in juggle mode which guile can follow up with flash kick
cr.Fierce = 5fr start-up
df.RH = 11fr start-up
Guile is NOT anti-airing you on the regular with df.RH. It gets stuffed if applied wrong. As an anti-air, it has to be spaced and used versus a very, very bad jump-in. His s.Fierce is much more applicable in the range where Guile players would even consider using it though.
Basically, though, whoever can effectively shut down Rekkas hurts Fei’s game a lot. It is not too hard to hit Fei out of Rekkas with pokes (so maybe make Rekkas faster in SSF4 :p). It is not too hard to see a CW coming and hit Fei out of it, or backdash and sweep him. If you lose up-close with Fei, you lose the fight. In playing Fei, you have to learn how to respond during the turtle matches. This is why Fei basically has to just bite his tongue and hope you throw out a bad fireball, a poor recovery poke, a move he can counter, you try to come to him, or he tries to walk you to the corner.
This is why Rog/Guile/Blanka (shouldn’t be)/Chun/Sagat can be so tough for most. Fei has no Fireball. Ok, so you HAVE to move forward since you also have no Sim poke or teleport or wall-jump to counter. (I say in SSF4, take out CW and give Fei Yang’s dash teleport ). Fei players have to constantly try and work off of plus frames or negative frame traps in Shien > fadc, tic throws, x-ups to really stand a chance in ANY turtle match. You HAVE to stay sharp to any jump-ins; ESPECIALLY since you are not permitted to jump in vs most fireball games. It can be tough.
agreed
Blanka easily. My reaction times just aren’t up to par against him. I have a much more difficult time against “scrubby” Blankas due to my inability to properly punish horizontal ball. When I do punish their tactic just changes to random river runs.
Chun-Li is also up there, but this one is mostly my fault for using FA as an anti-air. I need to stop that.

Sagat and Gief for me. Blanka is a toughie too.
Vega gives me trouble whether I’m Fei or anyone else.
Zangeif gives me the most trouble hands down
yup zangief. Everytime I see him in like the finals of championship mode, i cry XO
Thus I vowed to myself, if im ever in a tournament, in real life(which i havent worked up the balls to go into yet)
The second I see gief, imma use guile, or sagat, prolly sagat.
Blanka is the ultimate anti-Zangief. Luckily for me he’s one of my main characters.
There are quite a lot of Zangief in G1. So I’m actually having some practices in this match up.
I’m more confident now as I learn not to make mistakes. I still lost like 40% of the time though.
But it’s funny to see some akuma players switch to Zangief after I beat them a few times.
