vipers are rare. Good vipers are even rarer. I’d worry more about sagat instead, until capcom decides to make a patch to balance him out.
I do agree about a lot of people aren’t familiar of how to deal with FeiLong. He’s one of the least popular character online from what I’ve seen. And some people would be impressed to see a good FeiLong than, say, a shoto.
not only that mate, have you ever fought with one that did tons of that ground explosion but cancels out tons of times, its like too quick for the eyes to see whether they are going to cancel it or actually releases it.
oh and becareful of viper’s air flame kick, sometimes it does a cross over and her attack can be cancel into air flame kick
Those stats include playing against the computer so take them with a grain of salt.
If you’ve unlocked all of the characters then you will have fought against Seth at least 25 times…though really, how often do you play against a Seth online?
Blanka. If you can get past the EX balls, you won’t be able to cross him up.
Then Balrog, Gief, Honda, Bison. If you fuck up, you’re done, and you can’t even test them as all of his moveset is unbelievably easy to punish.
Yes i agree, blanka is the easiet to deal with as his rolling attack are punishable regarding whatever punch button they uses including ex version, once blocked dash forward and do a lp rekka, and follow up with 2 more rekkas
Honda’s headbutt can be punished too but not the lp i think
Wouldnt ryu give u some major issues with the damned air medium punch and dragon punches? and the low forward to fireball nonsense as well? i would have thought that would be fei’s biggest issue in stealing with as ryu tends to throw that nonsense out faster then even sagat can. he’s more mobile too so u cant just swarm the shit out of him like sagat.
Totally unrelated but to the people going “oh u didnt search u didnt search!” get a life. if u see a post that u know was part of a previous post and u reply just to whine you’re like a woman on pms. Also nobody wants to spend 20 minutes looking for a post that was around 4 months ago and has since died out. If he wants immediate quick replies to a specific topic then let the man do his thing. If u dont like that then head to shoppers for some tylonol and pads or just DONT READ THE DAMNED POST! that is all
so far i have more problems dealing with charged characters instead of ryu’s, and ryu’s fireball recovery is not as fast as sagat and it doesn’t come out as fast too, also ex cw will go through any fireball but its hard to do
but of course each of us have different problems playing against certain characters, so far we have many similarities
Well considering you see mostly Sagats, Ryu’s and Ken’s Akuma 85 % of the time, its a shock to see some type of other player who you probably forgot how to fight since its been so long since you seen anything other than a shoto.
Its also fun when they see you pick Fei and they think you are fucking around and you mop the floor with them :)
For some reason my fei have a lot of trouble with Blanka and Claw… I pretty much can stand with any other if they in my level of playing, but i get like 90% lost to those two, even if their level is below me.
Blanka
His rolls are awfully confusing to me, in particular the vertical rolls, not horizontal, as i just heavy punch or shienk them out of it.
Vega
Shrub vegas are very easy, but when im vsing better ones, it’s awfully hard to punish their attacks. I end up using focus to just kinda parry off their arial attacks. Anyone got a better tip to bit his arial overhead claw thing?
Seth
Havent had this matchup too often, but of the ones iv’e had. It’s extremely difficult to get him close enough to fei to beat him up enough TO WIN
which vertical roll is this one? is it the one that is back to forward using kicks? or down to up using kick?
and best if they do a roll, just block it as you can punish them after both, with back forward kicks you have more time to punish compare to the regular rolling attack if it is the vertical roll (down up kick) then you have to actually time it right as it has a quick recovery before he lands (all of blanka’s rolling attack can be punished after blocking it using rekkas (horizontal) or other combo’s (if the use the others) but you have to be close to them
if vega did that overhead claw thing, usually they are aiming for cross over, you can beat this by jumping backwards and hk or you can dash forward or if you are in the middle of the screen you can actually stand still (but this will not work if they are not aiming for overhead cross over) any other of his wall attack can be punished using rekkas
i have not played against seth using fei long so i do not know
First and foremost, Do Not Rush. Seth’s arsenal far outweigh’s Fei’s toolset, IMO. Stand your ground. Defensive play with cautious approaches will bring you closer to taking down Seth. When going for the hits, make sure you have a clean hit. For those jumpback hp Seths, time it right, you can Reversal lk. CW their jumpback HP right out of blockstun, knock them down and close the distance on them at the same time. Also be wary of when his ultra is stocked up, they’re usually trying to set you up at that point.
For those who have brought up Blanka, that guy is my most difficult to beat online. He’s definitely someone you have to player match up to.
Other than that, my most difficults match ups with Fei Long has been:
Balrog: His reach and power takes a lot of strategy to be able to beat him. Pokes are usually the only way to go but they only take you so far when he lands a good three or four hit combo into Ultra.
Bison: Another charge character than can hit you from the most random of places. My strategies usually consist of constant pressure but that only takes me so far.
Zangief: Honestly…it takes A LOT of training just to be able to compete with him well.
El Fuerte: I think I need some advice for this match up. I usually face El Fuerte’s who come out faster and more aggressive than me and disable me to use some of my Rekkas/Anti Airs.
Those are all I can think of for now…I might have more coming up if I remember.
Blanka is hard at first but after you play him often it gets easier compare to some others, first thing you need to be able to do if you want to be able to beat blanka is by being able to punish his horizontal rolling attack (block then dash forward and quickly do a lp rekka then hp rekka x2 - the reason is if you do a light rekka as the second they sometimes can block it) if you can do this then you have taken away 1 of blanka’s attack and they will have to resort to surprise diving hp and other normals attack
rainbow roll is punishable
vertical roll is punishable
electricity only works on close range
super/ultra is punishable too
jump ins are beatable by flame kick
so basically blanka’s moves are overcome by you, what you need to worry about is now his quick dash but this you can beat by spamming light attacks
this may sound easy but not as easy to do especially to those who keeps on moving.
against gief you should ask Nemesys_Syndrome for advice, he deals gief very nicely and way better than i do
