What really impressed me about Starnab?s performance at Guardcrush was:

Footsies- how effectively Starnab used cr.Hp and cr.MK.
2.Rekkakken hit confirm- I don?t think I saw him use RekkaX2 on block once. I need to put the training dummy on ?random block? so I can do that!
Flamekick AA- I would like to see his hand when does it cause he must execute them so fast.
One question I do have though is why didn’t he use Close MP for pressure?

Every time you didn’t do cr.MP (Link) cr.LP xx Rekkas I died a little inside.

I don’t understand the reasoning behind a hit-confirmed j.HK> cr.MP x2 since you get so much time to combo into something else… If you did st.HP and it was the far version, you’d get 10 damage less. If it was the close version, you’d get a full combo if you 2-in-1 the motion. I guess you could call it an option select; either way it’s probably a better gamble than cr.MP x2. I noticed at least one of the times you did cr.MP x2 you had the close range to do cl.HP. You could also opt for a BnB instead, BUT I’m assuming you didn’t want to push him back that much with Rekkas, so cl.HP xx Flame Kick would’ve been it.

Also there were times when you went for cr.LP x3 xx Rekkas or a variation of the one-frame link (i.e. Video 4 at 48 seconds). The range would be just right for cr.LP> st.LP> cr.LP xx Rekkas, which would make your life so much easier and would give you more damage (10, minus scaling). st.LP also doesn’t push as much as cr.LP, so you could probably have pulled cr.LK> st.LPx2> cr.LP xx Rekkas easily.

And it’s cool that you can do cr.LP links and all, but shouldn’t you be starting with cr.LK? I saw you combo’d maybe twice from just cr.LP x3. As a force of habit, cr.LK is just better overall, except if we’re talking range-wise, where cr.LP wins. Still, you could do cr.LK x2> cr.LP xx Rekkas which is what I do on smaller characters. Of course, against Sagat, there’s no reason to avoid the standing version.
