wow he punished ex machine gun with FK FADC on reactioin…wish i could react like that
Mago had some insane reactions in that set and the commentary was just to funny.
Mago played good , i really liked the smart back-dashes he was making and his use of Crouching fierce to stuff Dudleys Standing fierce , but he kept kept falling for the Ex Dp reversal…maybe he’s not used to his opponents mashing reversal lol .
Who was doing the English commentary?
What plugin do you need to watch stuff on youstream? It’s not working for me.
All the good Fei players are starting to look the same to me lol. I guess there is one playstyle that seems to work pretty good for Fei.
Also guys DON’T do 2 hit rekka, it’s not good on block even if Mago was getting away with it here.
true. its worth learning to hitconfirm so you dont run into people with match expierience, and get ultra’ed
It’s super risky but sometimes players can get away with something I call BLOCK SHOCK. You don’t expect something so unsafe so sudden and you don’t punish in time.
Still, it is a bad idea to do 2 rekkas on block (well, unless at super max range) so don’t, lol.
Fei long Video library
This might deserve a full thread on the main page. The Iplay winner site has full guides for every character- very basic stuff.
The handy bit seems to be the Video’s - Click on any character and they seem to have lumped bunches of vids of Fei fighting that character together in a nice little display. So problems with Blanka? head over here. I’ve not explored it fully so I don’t know the quality of the match ups although I did see Evan’s name floating around.

Thats the link
Anyone thinks this deserve a spot on the main page for newbies? Nice set up regardless.
Edit : looks like they have all the big hitters, this could be handy.
ive used the 1 rekka, into delayed 2nd rekka to frame trap there punish attempt kindof often as of late, makes ppl not wanna punish ur rekkas lol
Whats up, I’m a viper looking for a good fei matchup, add me if you can help.

Top 6 advances to the next round. Right now Mago is in 6th place.
It went right down to the wire… so close! 5-5 indeed, you can’t get any more proof than this match.
Peculiar how these are only best of 5 instead of first to 10…
Vega:
Saw Mago hit the HK CW> cl.HP link EVERY time. There were some disgusting CWs during the match though; he must’ve cross-over whiffed about 4 or 5 times. Some notable things were his use of delayed Rekka #2 frame trap, cl.lp> cl.HP xx Rekka frame trap, cl.MP> cr.HK frame trap.
It was interesting to note that the Vega player never used his anti-air reversal even when he had a down charge though. I know some people claim it’s a bad move, but it does do the trick against pressure.
Viper:
At about 24 minutes flat, you can see Mago do two of the above mentioned frame traps in the same string: cl.LP> cl.HP xx Rekka #1, delayed Rekka #2. He needs to be more consistent with the crouching BnB though; that’s something I’ve seen him fail to complete a couple of times before, but it’s possible that he’s not trying for it (he should be). At about 29 minutes flat, you can see a OS cr.LK> Rekka to catch Viper’s backdash. Mago absolutely does not miss the cl.HP out of CW.
Akuma:
Again, he starts off strong with another delayed Rekka set-up to knock Tokido down then used the untechable cl.MP> cr.HK for stun forcing Tokido to run. God there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing cl.HP EX Flame Kick on Akuma haha.
In this fight you can see just how unsafe double Rekkas can be, especially against a vortex master like Akuma.
Mago hits the crouching BnB, cr.LKx2>cr.LP xx Rekkas around 2:23:30. After watching three vids, you start to notice how Mago isn’t dropping combos the same way he was against YHC Mochi in the last GodsGarden Online tournament–HUGE improvement. Either he links his Rekkas or he stops at the final jab.
U2 is used for mindgames only here; it gets fucked at the final moment in the set forcing Fei to lose.
Ryu:
Now the dropped combos come in. I think Mago suffered from the Daigo effect as well since he was making errors that he definitely didn’t make in the other fights (at least in the first match). Dropped the cl.HP link and the cr.LP link from CW, and wasn’t watching Daigo’s meter before trying to Focus absorb fireballs (ate like 3 EX FBs trying to absorb them).
As I’ve said before, you’ll see how this fight really boils down to footsies range at the highest level. Fei puts Ryu in the corner and tries to keep him there, while Ryu occasionally pulls a lame one by using Tatsu to escape.
Mago isn’t doing the best job of predicting/intercepting FBs in the first two sets; he could be more aggressive with anticipating them and launching EX CW by having the motion buffered outside of footsies range. Because of this, Daigo was able to chuck them almost for free. In the third match, he uses it twice successfully and gets the upperhand, beating Daigo. It’s almost scary how Mago walks up on Daigo and just throw a flurry of block strings after a knock down.
Guys, WATCH THIS FIGHT.
This is the first round where its first to 3 and the top six qualify to the finals where its first to ten.
It was frustrating to watch daigo just hold back and throw the occasional fireball and mago not do anything. He would have probably won if he FADC the fk.Mago also seems to be quite liberal at using tenshin.
Ah gotcha. Well here’s to hoping that we get to see a rematch :wgrin:
I felt that given the context of the fight, Tenshin at the first opportunity wasn’t necessarily the right thing. Since they played at mostly footsies range, Mago wasn’t able to condition Daigo into believing he would go for a blockstring or Flame Kick FADC; throwing out a naked Tenshin was definitely very risky.
In cases where you do get a chance to condition your opponent though, Tenshin, in practice, is an awesome tool. I’ve been winning a lot more online thanks to meaty Tenshins and cl.LP xx EX Tenshin (which I wish Mago would’ve used more when he got in). I’m sure mrtcohens can attest to how frustrating it is to be slammed by it
Mago should’ve won but he choked last round. Missed 2 flame kicks fadc in a row. If he had hit the second one. He could’ve hit the CW straight into ultra winning the match. Mashed/choked?

These feis are pretty fine… I think
