Fei Long USF4 Combo Thread

Time for a new Combo thread since significant changes have been made to Fei Long.
c.LK being +4 on hit, cls.HP activating from farer away and the improved MK Chicken Wing and Ultra juggles allow for some new and really viable (damaging) options.
Sadly we’ve lost our old BnB c.LK > c.LK > s.LP , c.LP xx Rekkas due to c.LK not being chainable into itself anymore.
Still Fei feels stronger than in AE '12.

The BnB c.LK , c.MP , c.LP xx HP Rekkas always works on everyone - but it’s the only reliable option against Juri, Rose, Cammy, Decapre and Rufus.

While LK CW , Ultra works on Hugo and MK CW , Ultra works on Vega the timing is too strict to be practical.

^ On Honda I always get three hits. Against Ibuki, too - unless I wait too long to do the Ultra, then the 3rd hit misses.

Against Makoto you have to wait a few frames before doing the Ultra to get three hits. But on her LK CW juggle , Ultra works and is easy to do.

Same goes for Ryu and Ken as well as some other characters where MK CW , Ultra works fine. You’ll dash under with the last strike so it whiffs. But if you wait a few frames this also works.

Updated first post with character specific information. I assume the characters that the “c.LK > s.LP , cls.HP”-combos don’t work on probably have the same problem with the “c.LK , c.LK , cls.HP”-combos. Can someone verify?

Since only by the text it was difficult to see which BnB generally works on which character I’ve now also added a chart that shows which BnB always works regardless if they’re standing or crouching.

The BnB c.LK , c.MP , c.LP xx HP Rekkas always works on everyone, but it’s the only option for: Cammy, Decapre, Juri, Rose and Rufus.

EDIT: Updated the BnB-chart - c.LK > s.LP , cls.HP xx HP Rekkas works on Cody, too.

Not a combo but Hugo get’s hit with the HK CW for 3 hits on a crumple like Rufus so that should be the go to punish. Not sure where else to put these little bits of info as they come through.

Does Cr.LK > Cr.LK > St.HP > Rekka work on all characters even from crouching?

It’ll probably work against everyone except the characters where c.LK > s.LP , cls.HP doesn’t work even if they’re standing (the cls.HP turns into far s.HP). Will check later.

edit: Tested. As expected it doesn’t work against Balrog, Blanka, Guile, Hakan, Hugo, Rolento, Rufus, T.Hawk and Zangief.

But it works fine against standing and crouching Decapre and thus everyone else.

Hi all, haven’t kept up with all the changes, is there a reason to do MK CW now instead of HK to juggle?

Better hitbox, gets 3 hits on all characters (mid screen). And 10 more damage.

Anybody else having trouble getting cr lk > st lp, cl hp to work on standing abel outside of the corner?

Not sure but that would make sense because I’m sure you could only confirm from two lights on Abel not three. The third would always whiff. Abel has a weird box that is really good for somethings and not so much for others.

2 days ago I was fighting a couple of matches against two Abels and did (ambiguous) j.MP , c.LK > s.LP , cl.HP xx HP Rekkas all the time on their wakeup. Easy 284 damage. They weren’t strong though or else they probably wouldn’t have let me do this.

But I’ve just tested only c.LK > s.LP , cl.HP in training mode and you’re right - it fails most of the time (you get far s.HP). Sometimes it does work. Maybe Abel’s idle animation plays a role whether it works or not.

So from a deep jumpin it works reliably but on its own it doesn’t.

EDIT: Found out that out of the characters the combo fails on (Abel, Balrog, Blanka, Guile, Hakan, Hugo, Rolento, Rufus, T.Hawk and Zangief) it does work from deep j.MP on the following (when standing):
Abel, Balrog, Guile, Rolento and Rufus

With j.MP it only whiffs against Blanka, Hakan, Hugo, T.Hawk and Zangief.

So with j.MP this should be your goto combo against everyone standing except the four pure grapplers and Blanka.

This could be an effective way of landing U1.

100 more damage for 2 more meters. Worth it or waste of meter, what do you think?

Also, is it possible to land st.HP xx DP? I was testing but it always seems to whiff, gotta try with different chars when I get some more time.

Just tested on Ryu and cls.HP xx DP works fine in the combo.
So for just 2 bars you can do j.MP , c.LK > s.LP , cls.HP xx MK FK FADC MK CW , Ultra for 407dmg and 525stun.

But of course your suggestion works as well. Didn’t list it because it does less damage for 1 bar more.
Execution is a lot easier with the RFA and maybe cls.HP xx DP does whiff on some characters after all whereas RFA will definitely work on everyone.

And if you miss the 2f-link then the combo with RFA will also be safer. I noticed the Flamekick whiffs if you miss the link before cls.HP xx DP.
