mmm, I’m undecided about MVC 3.
I can combo, air exchange, hyper and all that jazz after about 5 hours practice (and no previous experience with any versus game). But It all seems a bit …well pointless.
There seems to be no flow to the match, and no overall tactic apart from pushing the assist button to get in and trying land your launcher. Its a bit of a stramash really.
You can’t react to anything either, kinda feels like your flying by the seat of your pants. I’ll give it a few days… 35 characters and a new game engine could be a bit daunting I suppose…
Beat by contest singles were amazing,high level gameplay is so nice to watch.
Yeah quite unfortunate. At least we got to see his ft25 against Alioune. Mago’s execution was really unbelievable.

So I gave MvC3 about a week. I can see the game being really fun if I committed a butt-load of time to it, but I don’t think I have it in me to do that. It’s fun enough going through mission mode, but overall I think the combos that are required of high-level play are way too long and way too rewarding. It would take a guy like me years to get to that level and I just like playing a fundamentals-based game more than calling out Assist 1 to make my approach safe or Assist 2 to create an unblockable. I’m getting back to SF. If you see me, hit me up.

I’ll bet! Coming from Hungary? Hope you bring a soft pillow :razz: I’ll see about Evo. Right now I’m more concerned about ECT3 which is happening the weekend of June 25-26. I’m hoping to place decently, but I could definitely use more tourney practice. Doesn’t seem like there are any events nearby running SSF4 though.
Winter Brawl is this weekend, im there. ECT3 im there. There are many tournaments in NJ so you can make those. Inthul has been calling me at like 3am to spar to get me ready for WB but I got the flu and I just cant. I am entered into singles and teams so I am looking forward to doing well. I have been taking some high level players to the brink as well as winning some of them. So I am feeling better about my play. Plinking after the CW and also hitting cl.hp/hk>super after a tenshin or FA crumble is BIG damage!
As for EVO I will see everyone there, well thats if I am still blessed to see another day. After being in the hospital for 2 weeks in ICU last year nearly dying I make plans that ahed of time
Eh Winter Brawl is too far/expensive for me. I’d have to make the 4 hour trip and then book a hotel for the night which will run another 70-100 or so on top of gas costs. Plus food and the actual registration fees, that would be a $250 or so weekend… Would be a shame if i lost my first two fights straight; it’s definitely a lot of pressure. ECT3 is much closer so I’ll spare a lot of those expenses. I might look into some Jersey stuff if it fits my schedule too.
Sorry to hear about the hospital experience Jason, I hope you’re feeling better and haven’t lost any organs in the process. :sad:

Yeah the hospital stay was a little over a year ago and yes I did lose a organ in the process. Since that day I changed my outlook on life. Thats why I wont give up after coming this far. So I look forward to seeing you at ECT3 and EVO in the future.
Did Inthul just take out Justin Wong?
He sent him to Loser’s Bracket, and then Wolfkrone eliminated him. Pad warriors!! Congrats to Inthul for getting 2nd place though! Wolfkrone’s a tough Viper. 
Also, I have a question (maybe someone else can answer this), why did Inthul keep using F+HK? Was it input mistake for a Chicken Wing?

No, Inthul uses f+HK purposely to OS certain wake-up options and as a long-range poke. Sucks that he lost to Wolfkrone so bad; he was just all over the place. Definitely deserves props for the victory over Justin though! Pretty big deal.
