Fei Long Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

For sure I’ve tried those but never used them a lot/properly I guess… Oh and what about the overall match up it just seems impossible sometimes

This happened to me as well. You have to let her get deeper from her jumpin on you in order to FK. Reason why we were getting beat out is her lk is active for 8 frames. You start up the FK to early and youre invisible frames run out and her attack is still active. Its just timing it differently from the rest of the cast as well as understanding her hitbox on her jplk. Here is a link to see her hitbox. http://www.eventhubs.com/images/2011/sep/30/ibukis-hit-box-information-super-street-fighter-4-arcade-edition-image-1/

Alright badass thanks man and as far the match up itself, I’m guessing it’s whoever pressures who first?

Yes it depends in who starts there pressure game. It’s a even match but Sako when he faced Fuudo made it look more in Ibuki’s favor. She has a great frame trap, 2 in 1 moves that blow up FA and she has her vortex. Her weakness is that her health is on the low end so a big combo on her can take 40-50% o her health bar. I do believe there is a safe jump as well as a unblockable against her. I’m not all to sure. If there is one abuse that as again she has no answer for it. Lastly delay your DP by a fraction so your invisible frames beat out her jplk

I’ve done that, what now?

Btw i appreciate the help

Hell yeah thanks man and I know what you mean when it looks like in her favor lol do you have the link where I can find that safejump/unblockable set up?

Now all that is left is to perform d same combos but this time with all the rekkas. See u can now do the rekka with relative ease, very soon it will be second nature.

You might want to learn plinking too lol!

Yeah I know how to plink, I know 6 months may not seem alot but I know a good amount about inputting and stuff, I only don’t know how to piano, is there a video which can demonstrate this?

Piano, hmm there are many vids like that on youtube

Never mind, ugo thanks for the tips with the rekkas, it really helped. =)

I have a few questions since I just started to pick up Fei.

-Where can I find matchup guides for AE 2012?
-Are there any tricks Fei can do in a match ? eg. Setups
-Situational combos?
-What is the safest reversal?
-Are rekkas safe if done at max distance?
-Best normals anti air?

-Matchup guides are scattered in this forum. Look for them at page 1 and 2

-there are many setups like tenshin and reKka, watch my video tuts for more of them and also look @ d forum

-there are few thanks to d nerfs, not worth learning

  • medium flame kick fadc cancel

  • well placed rekkas are hard to punish but vulnerable to fast supers like chun li, ryu and ken

-Best AA are close HP far HK and mk flame kick

It’s all in the master guide on this page mate. Also the lab thread has option selects and character specific combo’s.

Is anyone here dedicated enough to actually start making a new matchup thread or something?
Its hard trying to look through all these pages in this thread and the “Master Guide” matchup section just links you to broken pages from before SRK upgraded or w/e.

Alright. Since this forum is kinda not very active, and there are quite a few good people here to help, i got a question. How do i properly make use of cl st.mp? I mostly play online, and sometimes offline again my friend (Dictator). I sometimes catch him (as a counter(?)) from his tech’s from my cl st.mp. Are there some kind of setup for this move?

Mostly its been, knockdown, j.hk, cr.lk, wait a tiny tiny bit, cl st.mp, cr.lp etc… Are there anymore consistent setup or something?

@ugo_u2, nice YT channel/vids. Lotta feilong stuff. Very helpfull

well using cr normals doesnt really give you a true “counterhit” set up. Reason is as you may know you get no plus frames on block from crouch normals. What you can do is use st.lp as a set up for it but use only 1 as 2 st.lp may push you to far back. You can also go right into a cl.mp off of a jump hk/hp as they both give good block stun. Now that I think of it as its risky but you can use cr.mp but only if your like on top of the other player to a standing cl.mp. with the +2 on block it will make the cl.mp 3frames and what truly gives it the counterhit ability is is good hitbox.

Best bet is to view Fuudo and Mago matches. While we may not be able to paly as good as them they do show some nice tricks to avoid characters setups. Seeing Fuudo use cr.mk against Gief really helped me out with Giefs jumpin pressure. If not ask a question and hopefully someone can answer it instead of directing you to “search for it” I will do my best to answer any questoin you may have

Alright, thanks.Lemme try it out later

You can make them up really. A sneaky one is to land a cl.mp (blocked) then immediately walk up and do another one, your opponent usually thinks your going for a throw and you bust them open. You just have to mix up cl.mp/ tic throws and light pressure.

Another good one is cr.lk , HP xx EX rekka. Safe on block and will blow them up for big damage if you catch them teching. You can delay the HP a little. It’s the same idea as the cl.mp.

I think higgins was toying about with cl.mp / tenshin in the corner. I can’t remember I’ve not played Fei for a few weeks, I just realised how beastly Cammy is and have been using her as an alt.

Out of curiosity, is the weirdly angled half circle in the chicken wing (df, qcf, uf) considered that or a half circle up-forward and thus strict or subject to shortcuts (d, uf)?

There is no shortcut for the CW but there is one for the DP its back, forward, back
