Fei Long Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

i knew about starting with cl.MP, but i hadn’t thought about the cr.MP (especially from crouch tech LP+LK+MP) before… thank you

cr.MP is super fast too… on the other side cLK must be blocked low (and i relly like that)… thats kind of an hard choice

i’d better train on that 1 frame link from cLK, doing the first rekka as a LP version so its not that unsafe if i screw up the link

oh i should try this too, thx

LP links / rekka’s are very fast. I just practiced LP / rekka’s until i was 100%

Problem is, from cr.lk, cr.lk, cr.lp xx lp Rekka range, it is always unsafe. You could go a thousand games on XBL and never get punished, but if you ever run into somebody that knows the matchup you’re going to get destroyed for it.

Ryu can reversal SRK FADC Ultra it extremely easily.

really?, that is my problem :kicks cat:

The point of the light attacks before the rekka is so that you can hit confirm.After 2 cr.lks you can see if they are blocking or not and stop the string.If its for a punish it much better to go for cl.hp xx rekka.

ive recently realized that it may be crucial to be able to hit confirm one cr.lk rather than two , because Feis options after 2 cr.lk’s are vastly inferior to what he can do after one cr.lk . So can any of you actually hit confirm one cr.lk ? im learning this in training mode and im starting to get a little better at it .

oh and i mean this in the corner as midscreen you can’t hit confirm cr.lk and option select backdash at the same time…am i right? because if this is possible then my conundrum is solved, but if not then i would rather option select backdashes midscreen than hit confirm cr.lk’s but in the corner it will be extremely handy to learn how to hit confirm one cr.lk .

I am not exactly sure what your trying to acheive but shoudnt:
:d::lk::hp:
:d::lk:

work?
If the first lk is blocked or hit the second one comes out as a chain and if it whiffs hp.

well i was saying it may be helpful to learn how to hit confirm one cr.lk rather than 2 , and with the cr.hp option select 2 cr.lk’s have to come out thus not allowing me to hit confirm one cr.lk and then feel free to do what i want . And if i option select rekkas a standing jab will come out rather than me being able to hit confirm the cr.lk so i guess it’s not possible to do both .

And the Cr.Hp option select only works for me if i do this .

:d::lk::hp:
:d::lk::hp:

I tried other variations including your version but it just doesnt work like that for some reason .

does anyone know frame data for firekick FADC on block?

Dash forward, it’s +0.

Backdash, I’d imagine since it’s about 9 frames slower, is -9. <–Test this out by doing Fei’s reversal MP Rekka or Ultra to catch the back dash.

Wont the cr.hp come out instead of cr.lk on the first button press since it has more priority?Also make sure your chaining the cr.lks which is perhaps why it didnt work.

no, the Os is actually correct, akuma has a similar one with cr.lp, std hk -lk.

do you guys have setups for chicken wing crossup into combo in the corner?

Just cancel off of a normal. Too hard to time and really unsafe on wake-up if that’s what you’re thinking about. I saw one where a Fei did two hit Rekkas and paused, then did the CW. Eh, gotta test it to see if its really that good.

Has there been any experimentation with using j.mp as a fuzzy guard?

Like this?

Haven’t tried, but unless it’s a Kill-hit, it really leaves Fei wide open.

Is there any way to get the last hit of ultra 1 after chicken wing juggle?

Yes, play against Dhalsim, Honda, Rufus or Dee Jay. :wink:

Damn That sucks, I was hoping there was a way to connect it against all the characters. :frowning:

Unfortunately there isn’t. Btw., it’s a whopping 79 damage difference.

In a recent interview someone (Ono?) stated they won’t be able to fix this because they’d have to change all the opponent’s hitboxes. So we’re stuck with this.

Ok i’ve tried my best to make a video of the infamous 1-frame link, and some other things that `i feel are just as important to be able to hit properly. One thing to keep in mind is that to the best of my knowledge youtube does not run at 60fps, so that being said trying to time it EXACTLY to this video is hard to do. Also things to keep in mind,

  1. visual cues > audible cues - just like picture, sound can lag, plus if your in a room with a group of people around you, your not gonna hear to much. visually you will be able to adapt easier then audibly (personal opinion).
  2. This video is a lot of the same stuff over and over again, `i wanted it that way to show you over and over again without to much pause and go back stuff.\
  3. I totally suck at editing, I’ve been asked to slow it down in some places… but I have no clue how to do that lol, so I apologize.
  4. based on your TV things will be different, I recently just changed tv’s from a sony with 25+ms lag to an Asus with 0-2ms lag, it’s a huge difference, and is the reason i miss some stuff (only had it for a few days, i highly recommend it as it slows the game down substantially, if your going to a tournament they will be using a zero lag setup if you have any questions about this please ask me), using this video as a guideline is a good thing, but not an DO THIS EXACTLY kinda thing.
  5. this stuff isn’t taught by a video, it’s learned by doing, ive done this to give some pointers to those that need them, don’t get frustrated! stay cool, and try to switch things up, once you learn this stuff take it to some higher pressure situations, and see what you do and learn from it!

I do recommend pausing at the captions and reading them.
So here you go guys, PM/post me if you have any questions about anything.
