Nothing really; alot of people think it’s garbage because of the start up frames it has.
It’s good for a mixup when you’ve been rushing or going for normal throws after jump ins; but I don’t really use it to much.

well it has extra range compared to the normal version
faster startup and longer range.
ok… here’s one. WHY is the chicken wing called the chicken wing… seriously?
Cause American’s couldn’t/wouldn’t call it by its Japanese name and it resembled a chicken wing. (In ST)
Play street fighter 2. The chicken wing looks like a chicken wing. Period.
I can sorta make the connection, but I’m not truly seeing a chicken wing in that.
I’d sooner call it a somersault kick than a chickenwing; or flip kick so on and so on. I’m not one to go against silly names though, so I’m all for the chickenwing.
I probably just haven’t looked hard enough, but…

What is he doing to cancel the flame kick?
I believed it was because of his “whoaa ta taoo” when he performs it, which reminds a lot of a chicken.
Fadc.
If you are able to link CW, you could try :
fierce CW (3 hit)+s.FP+fierce Rekkas
edit : my bad, only EX and small CW connects with FA. And badly …
I thought so. OK so I’m pretty much a scrub and I’ve been trying to do this for a while. Maybe I just don’t understand it right. It’s flamekick>mp+mk dash right?
Yessir. You got it. Just takes time to get use to the feel of it. The MP+MK doesn’t have to happen super fast either, but before he leaves the ground.
I’m new to Fei Long, and I was just wondering how everyone ‘gets in’ generally.
It doesn’t seem like Fei has any far-reaching pokes that can combo into Rekkas/CW, and the normals that do combo are all very close range. Should I be just throwing Rekkas at max distance to see if I connect safely? How safe is CW on block, should I be using this to get in close? Or should I be baiting reversals and punishing accordingly.
Thanks
HK Chicken Wing is neutral on block, meaning it’s 100% safe. The first two hits of LP Rekka are also safe from max range, so try poking with that.
Great thanks, just what I was looking for
I’m still not sure what the best time to throw out a CW is, other than to get over a fireball. It seems to get blocked/countered a lot.
hey guys
I’ve been trying to incorporate the overhead (f+mk) more into my game since people love to turtle
what is the best move to follow up after hitting the overhead? or is better to wait and react to the opponent?
Theoretically the frame data for fei long says he gets +1 frame advantage over the opponent if f+mk hits so I feel (for me really) that it gives little room for error to follow up so it leads to how you think opponent will react. Super turtles… for instances like guile players (not all) would mean probably following up with a quick attack might be good. But if someone is quick to react then waiting is better. Just a theory though.
hmm interesting I think I’ll have to test it out on different characters
anyway thanks for the reply
Lvl 1 FA>dash up. eats a counter poke, and is usually enough to freeze em for a sec
