If he’s just spamming it you need to use you’re own footsie’s to win the battle for space. I can think of 3 things off the top of my head to stop that spam.
Cr.hp from outside range. Stand around or just outside the range where the tip of the foot would hit. You’ll either stuff his startup or catch his recovery frames.
Cr.mp same reasons as above but possibly better due to the faster cr.mp
focus crumple or focus dash out.
You could possibly get away with cr.lp into rekka if you were close enough.
The trick is staying just outside the tip of the foot. It’s all spacing, footsie’s are one of the most important things to get right. You want to maintain a range and keep it so that you’re threatening but fairly safe. Watch video’s of some of the pro’s playing and it’s like watching 2 dancers in tandem, they both try to keep a certain space between the characters and trade blows within that space until an opening presents itself.
If you focused and then dash out or in you might be able to catch them off guard. The cr lp to rekka is a Lil dangerous, but if you have great reaction, it can work or you might be able to at least trade off the lp. I should try the crouch strong or fierce from outside Ryu’s range.
I hear you on that one. I implement some frame traps in my gm, but secondly needed to get better with them.
That’s an interesting philosophy when it comes to the CH. I do the standing jab and go to crouch strong, and if the opponent is sleeping, catch them off guard.
So what is the point of chicken wing and when should I be using it? I don’t really understand how to utilize it outside of Ex chickenwing over fireballs. Also is it important to learn how to combo after chicken wings?
alright thanks, but when should I use it though? I’ve pretty much always had this problem where I don’t know when to use moves like this… happened when I used to play Chun, too. I had no idea when to use her Hazanshu, other than when my opponent threw a fireball or something like that.
Also I was looking at some frame data, and it looks like medium CW is -2 and light CW is -4… so if my CW gets blocked is it better to just chill rather than hit a button? again thanks a ton
If you want to use the light or medium versions, make sure you’re gonna land a hit. I personally use the hard and ex versions, cuz though they take longer to start, they’re both 0 on block. Most Fei players I notice use the CW sparingly, only really to get over fireballs or to start a combo. You wanna control the space, but the CW is dangerous to use to control space.
Hi.
I’ve been trying to make Fei my secondary. But I have a problem. I can’t make my opponents fear my jab rekka midscreen. What do I do about that? Also, what are Feis options when you have them locked down in corner?
Could you elaborate on why they don’t fear the jab rekka poke, what does the opponent do?
Anyway guys do people generally know you can create a 50/50 crossup situation (similiar to the corner which depends on when you hit the button) against specific characters (characters with tall wide hitboxes) from a back throw setup or does this need to be shared?
I’ve been having some trouble with hit confirms on crouching opponents, and today I figured out the problem. All of Fei long’s hit confirms on crouching opponents have one frame links… jeez.
Is there anything I can do to help me out with this? Is it plinkable?
Unless you want to plink the lp with the select button, i would say no.
You just have to get the timing down for the link from crouching lk to crouching lp.
Luckyli there are some chars where you can land a standing jab…even if they crouch
Dont know why it should not be allowed.
But you cant do it in your button config, cause select is not an option there…
You have to modify your stick and place the select button left to your jab button.
For the start, you can try linking the lp and cancel it into ex-rekka cause its safe on block
Thats what i did to learn the link
It’s useful to make a small post it note and stick it next to you (or you can try and just remember) on who the st.jab hits on crouch. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve been trying to land 1 framers on players when I could have just stood up and hit jab. Total brain freeze sometimes, especially on longer sets with multiple characters.
DJ has one of the best AA’s in the game so its hard to jump against him. I haven’t really seen safe jumps work against him. Same for Adon. His anti air is strong as well.
For adon delay your safe jump timing, its similar to chun-li’s.
For Dee jay do a back throw whiff cr.lk, st.lk and jump with mk (this one works for seth). Forward throw if dee jay has meter I stick with ground meaty’s.
It will hit them on the way up (crossing them) causing to flip when you win an air-air. I don’t know the exact name of the state but its the same flip animation when you reset an opponent.
Can you elaborate on Adon please ? I tried in training but I still can’t safe jump the mofo.
Other quick question : I 'm pretty sure I saw in a video cl.MP CH - cl.HP by LLL Momi. Under what circumstances can we do this ? I tried in training but it seems more complicated than it looks… Is it character specific ?
