I want my money back dude. This thread says; ***EVERY ANSWER HERE. ***Yeah, I’m stumped. I’ve tested it on Fei, Tony Hawk, Guy, Dan and Seth and it’s the same across the board; 6 frame super, squeezing into a 5 frame gap… Who knows?
Lol, well I’ll give you your invisible dollar back. Let me just open my invisible safe and separate your invisible cash from the millions of invisible dollars I take from people daily.
I really think it may be a late cancel if it’s truly consistent for every character. Try a cr.MP> sweep if you’re not convinced of the frame advantage. You could also try punishing -5 disadvantage moves with Super to see if it’s the Super that’s faster than we think.
Holds invisible dollar up to the light
Yeah, Fei’s cr.HP is -5 and reversal Super couldn’t punish at all, and cr.MP sweep wouldn’t work like expected last night. As for it late cancelling, that may be a possibility, but that would also mean that when you hit with cr.MP, you have an initial window to cancel to super, then a set of frames from which you can’t cancel, and the youn get another window at the end the very end of the move again, because it will definitely not cancel anywhere between that initial bit and the end.
The only other explanation I could think of was that by some small chance, Fei’s frame data is off somewhere, but that is very unlikely; still though, I may look into testing the frame data tonight a bit…
What normals have better frame advantage like the jabs ?
Im seeing the frame data of both games and i see some normals nerfed .
If you see the frame data for both, it should be quite clear. Only Jabs got +1 added on hit. cl.MK got faster but is also at a bigger disadvantage on hit or block–very negligible considering it’s a move to cancel with.
Hey guys, I’ve picked up Fei and he’s fun to play.
Can I use the BnB Combos from super in AE too, or does some of them dont work? How do I get close to opponents, are there mayor changes in fei?
Is it timewast to read and watch the fei super tutorials?
Thats for now
BnB combos still work on AE, but you got to be careful with some characters doesn’t hit the st. Jab when they’re crouched ( in the new ones, E. Ryu and Oni, doesn’t hit , dunno on Yun and Yang ).
To get close to the opponents , is majorly being patient and when they are in the rekka’s zone, throw them safe and watch close to punish whiffed pokes .
No more aproaching with randoms HK CW.
Well it’s been 10 days now since AE was released, I’m thinking of putting up the matchup thread for Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu and Oni, but I’m going on holiday tomorrow (sat) for a week so I’d be putting up a frozen thread for a while. Anyone mind? Or wanna put it up themselves? (provided you’ve been around a good while…)
If you’re up for it, it’s yours to take Spartan. I think at this point we can start pruning for irrelevant Super data in the existing threads too and merge the information into one quote system instead of splitting them between Super/AE. I’ll do a bit of that for the match-up information in this thread.
Some work on the Cammy match-up, although basic: If you manage to get a block on a Spiral Arrow (any version), immediately after the hit, go into s.HP xx Rekkas (Ex if you have the meter to spare) for Cammy-ass damage. This will also force a reset, giving you the opportunity to take advantage on wake-up. Her dive kicks almost always lose out to or trade with Flame Kicks to Fei’s advantage. If they’re going for lows on you, especially lights, look for two consecutively then you can Rekka like it’s going out of style (M or higher) or Flame Kick FADC into other shenanigans if you have the meter. Carry Cammy to the corner and stay on top of her with mix-ups on her wake-up to keep her there. A Cammy that’s stuck in the corner’s life bar will vanish in moments under Fei Long’s pressure.
Some of the matchup links arent working, any time frame when theyll be fixed?
Any clue on which ones in particular?
I’m much busier nowadays, but if you leave a list of things that need fixing or additions that you would like to see, please post them here (yes, I’m inviting ideas). I can get to them one at a time, provided it’s all in a neat list that I can read and not a huge discussion.
If you guys start a list, please add on to one another’s requests (copy and paste the last person’s list) before adding your own suggestions. That’ll be a huge help. Thanks!
Please post match-up tips in the match-up discussion threads I have linked. If they’re not working currently, the threads should be easily viewable from the Fei Forum main page
FYI, if you’re close enough to do cl.HP xx Rekka, you’re close enough to do cl.MP xx HK CW and link that into a much bigger combo. Also, there’s no guarantee that after two low shorts that you can Rekka immediately–chances are that you may be in for a frame trap/tick throw instead. In that situation, Flame Kick shouldn’t be the initial response even if you have meter, since you could just be wasting it if she blocks or backdashes.
Me needs taught the ways of the safe jump. Please.
I used to safe jump a lot but not do anything after (I’d use it just to bait/punish a reversal) until my sparring buddy caught on. After that I started trying other things with my knockdown game and as I’m improving I want to expand my horizon and bring safe jumps back in and, you know, actually get some mileage out of them. I know they’re good for OS’es but those tend to be char specific so I’m trying to avoid stuff like that as I’ve only been playing Fei for a couple of weeks.
TL;DR: I could use some help in that area as well, mostly when it comes to getting actual utilization out of safejumping assuming the other person learns not to throw out a reversal.
I made a video on safe jumps. anyway ex flame kick into jump hk is a 100% accuracy 5 frame frame trap
5 frame safe-jump you mean It’s someplace in one of the safe-jump links. Post up your video though!
Updated OS thread.
Edit: Nothing to see here.

Darn, I’ve been gone too long from this thread due to a huge involvement with combovid.com.
I think I’ll be working on the hk/ex chicken wing to st. hp on Pad tutorial this week. I had just been too busy with other stuff.
And man, too bad we lost that awesome +6er st. lp, eh? Oh well. It’s only a greater challenge to still be awesome, huh? haha
