Why the fuck doesn’t standing jab hit all crouchers!? If you’re gonna nerf crouching short, at least remove the stupidity of having to remember who standing jab hits crouching!

The increased detection on standing fierce is cool, easier to anti air with.

I REALLY wish they’d make Ultra 1 do more damage non-animation, since DP FADC is much riskier now.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not but there’s nothing stealth about it; it’s a direct nerf. Just poke with EX Rekka or his normals instead. It’s not a massive issue; it’s one that can be adapted to so long as you understand how a ground game works.

If MK CW has a better hitbox then it’s possible that it might be better to use in pressure strings than Rekka now, similar to ST. That would be an indirect buff to it connecting after DP FADC fully on everyone. Still shite, because the gap in the string is reactable with DP, Ultra or slides to make it whiff.

What Fei can do now with his Ultra though is pretty decent.

Close standing HP: Proximity distance increased
Crouching LK: Advantage on hit changed +3 -> +4
f+HK: Pushback on the 2nd hit decreased on hit
MK Chicken Wing: Hitbox on the 3rd hit greatly expanded upwards

I don’t think the rekka things is that big imo. Yes it sucks but now we’ll just have to space accordingly.

Spacing won’t matter for a lot of characters. -5 is going to get toweled up by a ton of shit.

Does nobody else care that standing jab doesn’t hit everyone crouching? I’ve lost so many times wiffing that jab and so dropping the combo…

I’m interested in cr lk to st hp now. This rekka business hurts. Should’ve reduced corner carry as was suggested ages ago. Now the corner game is hindered without meter.

Endless was silly earlier, I played a pretty sub average akuma and just devolved the game into seeing how many times I could take him across the screen. Tenshining yourself into the corner is silly but fun

Not really. I think everybody is just used to go for the 1f link c.lk > c.lp when the foe is crouching.
That would be REALLY strong tho, since s.lp is his only light positive on block. Frame traps for days! But that is never gonna happen.

If they reduced rekka’s corner carry, the opponent would still end up being in rekka range after being hit by a full rekka, which would mean endless safe pressure. At least now, unless you’re already near the corner, the neutral game is reset after a full rekka. Corner carry being reduced would actually be a huuuge buff, trust me.

They could have decreased the range on all rekkas instead of nerfing the recovery. That would have been a lot less traumatic imo, but who knows what criteria they’re using for the balancing process. It’s probably a much more complex subject than we think.

I hadn’t thought of that. Makes sense when you put it that way. That is why I am not in charge of balancing.

Sometimes I imagine the balancing process as a dart board. In the ring are + and - for recovery, block, hit etc… And Ono and combo and the gang put on a blindfold and start throwing to see what sticks.

Then stop being a scrub and learn the crouching BnB.

The -5 rekka is dumb. It somehow means that this tool isnt supposed to be used in footsies at all. Just as an example, -5 is a guaranteed sweep for Ryu regardless of the range. And a lot of characters will be able to punish it regardless of the range. So if you want to be safe and/or scare your opponent, you’ll have to rely a lot more on the delayed 2nd rekka little mindgame thus turning solid Fei into gimmicks-heavy Fei.
