I think Fei is still top five lol
So, after actually having time and sitting down to play on ranked for a few hours… I’m going to say that his ultra buff is noticeable. Other than that, he’s weaker overall because as mentioned, he is too linear now. Less pressure because of the cr. lk and the range with light rekka is kind of horrible.
Don’t understand what people mean by less pressure from his cr lk, there was never any pressure from it in the first place it was only used for starting of blockstrings and combos which he can still do. Rekka is the main big nerf as the 2nd hit will whiff on some crouching characters like gen from safe rekka ranges so if you want all 3 hits of rekka to hit you have to do it from a unsafe distance.
With the ultra juggle buff it is best to use light flame kick as an anti air once you have ultra is stocked up as light flame kick trades very easily so you can combo into hk chicken wing into ultra which works on every character.
His block strings now incorporate crouching jabs which gives him more pushback with each hit so the strings are minimized, distanced increased - theres a bit less pressure. I also want to add that the focus range reduction does play a part as well in his nerfs.

crlk, stand lk OS Mp rekka and cr.lk, cr.lp OS crHP are both still there
Here’s my impressions after playing a VERY long session with my brother (he uses Sakura).
Fei’s neutral game is definitely weaker, mainly because of the focus range and rekka nerf. Focus attack’s range being so long meant Fei could avoid almost completely to play footsies with the opponent in some situations, but now he has to risk eating a low forward into special to actually land it.
So while he can still completely outfootsie the opponent, now he has to commit to rekkas much more than before. This doesn’t necessarily make him weaker, but rather, a bit less braindead.
cr.lk nerf is noticeable, but not that much. The fact that we can’t chain it is more a matter of getting used to it, which I did quite quickly. The fact that it’s 4 frames is, well, a nerf, we just gotta hold that.
I honestly didn’t find that many “holes” in his blockstrings, or rather, they’re just as they were before. Cr.lk is still chainable into cr.lp, so you can still make it a blockstring if you really need to. You can create some space, and then go for the usual frame traps with cr.mp and overheads, except now he also has ex command grab. 10 frames of startup means it’s much harder to OS a block and a jump, it just becomes a pure 50/50 between cr.mp/cr.mk and tenshin.
Cr.mp doing 10 more damage is noticeable in the long run. That move hits something like 5 or even 6 times in a round, which means the opponent has 50/60 less health than you.
Ultra 1 after a juggle is awesome, very noticeable even though I’m much less eager to dp FADC forward than before. Just don’t jump at Fei, or you’re pretty much dead.
Light rekka is MUCH harder to use now, or at least, I still have to get used to it. Now I just go for the medium version, which means I have to do it from farther away so the spacing is definitely different.
Overall, he is the same character, some matchups are worse but I’ll take it. Fei had very few bad matchups to begin with, so maybe it’s time we get used to having some, like all the other characters.

Some practical uses are against Guile, when stuffing cr.HP with an early j.MP:
j.MP > cl.LP > cl.HP xx HK Flame Kick > Ultra
…and from meaty cr.LK:
cr.LK > cl.HP xx HK Flame Kick > Ultra
Versus Seth, you can just do:
cr.LK > cl.LP > cl.HP xx HK Flame Kick > Ultra
You can get it from a jump-in but from a little testing I couldn’t get the Flame Kick to hit late enough consistently. Issue is the hit-reel anim making you land closer than you normally would and manually adjusting the distance upon landing is too tricky. If you hit j.HK at a certain point, it works but it’s too finicky.

I was playing against a dudley today, and I did raw super to catch a backdash. The first hit connected but then he just dropped out of it and was able to punish for the game. I don’t know if this has been an issue in other games, or if it’s just in ultra

Nope, depends their state and the distance, if they are floating it’ll reset them, same thing happens with the Ultra if you hit the crumple too late.
Man, how are you guys linking into rekka from normals consistently? Ken has been my alt. for a good while now but I still can’t seem to link well on pad. I know it’ll likely be easier with stick but I’m too broke right now for that (about another month or so till bonus comes in) and just wondering if fei players are getting combos off as soon as a lk/lp is landed on an opponent. the timing is just so ridiculous! It’s like lk, lp slight pause, lp rekka. Why can’t this just be a smoother link!!! I keep losing matches because I don’t get my rekka out. Should i be working on linking into st.HP or something?

Vs Rolento
In the corner, cl.HP xx HK CW is a fairly safe pressure string and leads into all sorts. If you just keep doing it over and over, Rolento has to do a 1f throw, st.LP or cl.lk to get out. All of his other options are beaten or reaction punishable. If Rolento hits any other button, you CH and get a full CW combo, or if he hits cr.LK or cr.LP with 1f timing, you trade. You can easily build a trade OS into the cl.HP xx HK CW with ultra and will connect on the trade.
The orgasm people get when Fei Long’s 3rd hit juggle ultra confuses me. It does a bit of damage but… I don’t get it.
