Fei Long Combos and Glitches

i think the only others are st *close *mp\mk, but maybe far also idk. possibly a counter hit overhead, definitely with a jab linked.

standing crouching Jab.
close Strong and Forward.
close Fierce.

That’s all there is right?

c.Jab into Rekka is where it’s at. Trying to incorperate it more and more each time I play. c.Jab, c.Short, c.Jab, a pressure string I can safely Jab Rekka into for a long hit confirm. Standing close strong as everyone knows is godly for that purpose too.

Of course, the extra super juggle after the cw juggle is just to finish off a match if necessary.

Thanks, I would run through this stuff myself, but I don’t have my own set-up.

Hey mistic,
I would love to play you cuz I have a problem with honda when I play with fei

Also if anyone plays with blanka look for me xboxlive cuz fei has a problem with him too…surprisingly, I beat most pros with fei against the top tiers like Sagat and Gief for example.

k1bytes - XBOX

Yo mario I played you a couple of times…ur good!

I don’t know if you guys play as many sagats as I have but my roomate uses sagat and fei stuffs his tiger shot or his insane kicks with a rekka punch…a

lso I’m not sure but when I use light rekka punch against sakura I’m totally safe
(i haven’t been punished with other chars. either, make sure it’s light rekka)
… after it is blocked i can defend, works good for chip attacks

I think the flame kick cancel to chicken wing is a waste of super bar.

Occasionally I like to just use close s.mk to flame kick as a combo for two reasons: They can’t punish mk as easy as a HP, and because you can cross up using all 3 of the same button so it perhaps may be easier to do and more reliable. Just a note.

Even the chicken > FP > flame kick> Focus cancel> chicken wing combo doesn’t do as much as one super does. And the super is easier to combo into.

You’ll do well to remember Fei is a flashy motha fucka, no simply super would do!!! (rofl)

Found a good hit confirm poke into rekkas.

cr.MP link cr.LP rekkas works. Wooo.

with the cr.LP having a shorter range than cr.MP, is it really that feasible to use that as a poke? i tend to poke around max distance of my normals… do you get close enough that cr.LP will connect after you get push back from cr.MP?

Yeah basically. You don’t have to be THAT close to make it combo, try it out in training mode. The reason I like this is that it doesn’t take any awkward delays like if you did cr.LP x2.

Seems to me that all Fei really has going for him is his close up light game.

You can usually do 3 c. lk link into c. lp and go into rekkas. Mix that up with throw/tenshin and forward+RH to catch jumpers and you can do some decent damage. There’s also chicken wing cross ups you can do on crouching opponents since you’re spamming c. lk into c. lp xxx rekka. Not to mention the range of his focus attacks make him pretty dangerous. Maybe do a max range focus (they’ll probably jump back) cancel out of it into a roundhouse chicken wing then do another block string.

Seems to me that s. hp is too hard to link off chicken wing consistently, especially considering the range. I’d probably use c. lp into rekkas although s. lp has the most range for when you catch standing opponents.

CH cr.mp will also link into LP/EX rekkas from max range, so thats another option

Ok sorry for the uber noob question… Just picking up Fei and would like to learn more about him here…

Is “FP” referring to Standing Fierce…?? or a particular special moves that I am not aware of…

The reason I ask is I have seen hp > flamekick and FP > flame kick… is hp (= heavy punch?) the same as fp (= fierce punch?) ??

“cr.lk>st.lp>cr.lp>rekka(for crossups\low meaty) or just hp>flamekick”

if hp = Heavy Punch, does this mean both cr.hp and st.hp works for this combo?

Thanks

HP = heavy punch
FP = fierce punch
Fierce = HP, FP

SF Jargon @_@

And, no, cr.fierce is not mentioned as being used in that above combo. Aside from that, neither does it work in that combo, because cr.fierce can’t be special canceled with Fei Long.

Usually, if someone simply says fierce,hp,fp then they are referring to the standing version. It helps to notate it specifically tho by placing the abbreviated st. or s. behind it.

Thanks for the clarification judge_rl! Man its hard for an old fart like me to get away from Jab/Strong/Fierce/Short/Forward/Roundhouse… but o well just have to adapt

Yea, since this is SF, I think SF terminology should be used. Then again, players come from all walks so, being able to go back and forth and still use your fave when you post seems best.

I started with using light/medium/heavy from playing the Vs series and got into Jab/Strong/Fierce and Short/Forward/Roundhouse from SF3:3s

Not sure why I didn’t notice this the first time I read your post, but nice use of f + roundhouse there:

preemptive aa (1st kick) after block string
stuffer if continued crouch and tried to counter after 1st kick whiffs (2nd kick b/c 1st kick whiffs)

I prefer LP/MP/HP and LK/MK/HK for the sole reason that

F+MK

would be Forward+Forward in “SF terminology”… :wink:

Another Glitch?

Hey wassup guys… I main Balrog, but I just started using Fei…( He’s like a little baby Balrog :wonder:) Anyway, I looked around before posting this and didn’t see it, so sorry if it’s already somewhere else…

I noticed that you can do the first 2 hits of Rekka with only one QCF motion, as long as you keep holding forward and press a punch button 2x “really” fast (like Sagat fake-kick speed). I found it to be easier if you piano the buttons but obviously that will effect the strength of the Rekka coming out.

I don’t really know what good this could be… It seems a little pointless to me (not to mention harder to do), but I thought I’d mention it.
