Fei Long Combos and Glitches

I wanna see someone do FP, EX wing, fp, Ex wing, fp, ex rekka. That’d be one awesome looking combo >>

^ Yeah. If it doesn’t stun, it may not actually be worth the meter/ultra you give them, but it would look so fresh it doesn’t matter haha.

if you look at some of the training mode vids that max did you can see that scaling is done per attack and not per hit, so the scaling on that loop shouldn’t be that bad. something like:

fp(100%),ex wing(100%), fp(80%), ex wing(70%), fp(60%)…and so on. although i don’t know if each hit of the wrekkas count as one attack or all three count as one attack.

Fei-Long is mid tier, from playing with him his ultra doesnt seem to go through fireballs. His EX command grab does NOT combo or link in any way. The one thing i can say is that on a grounded opponent it does good chip dmg since he does so many strikes… the problem is you can SA the final blow and counter Fei-Long so its not even really worth it sometimes.

he does have really nice combos tho, very flashy and high dmg, the double edged sword is a lot of them are really technical and are precise to execute.

His f, mk is a really good overhead but chicken wing is no longer overhead which really sucks. It does cross up but not consistantly enough to be useful.

Fei-Long does not really give a reason for people to duck unless he has a full super bar since c mk, combos into super combo for really solid dmg.

He can combo c.short kick into c.jab rekka but the timing almost doesnt even make it worth it sometimes against geif or boxer since they can easily interupt if your timing is off even just a little bit…

Like i said before Fei-Long seems mid teir at best considering how solid so many other characters are in the game. He is a lot of fun dont get me wrong but hesnt not an A class character at the moment. He would be top 5 if his c.mk could combo into rekka, and his EX command grab connected into ultra, but they dont so hes gonna have to settle for top 10.

hate to argue with you, but unless they’ve changed it we SAW them link the command throw with the s.fp XX EX rekka in the second 1up video.

While not quite the aforementioned infinite loop, I’ve been using RH.CW into s.FP xx lk.CW on Ryu-sized characters, it looks cool as hell.

Its funny, I only decided to make and maintain these threads to help out with a char that didn’t seem popular…

But now I’m getting kinda excited about him!

Can someone with the game go into training mode, turn on damage numbers, and try these two combos out:

Close fierce, short flame kick
Command grab, close fierce, short flame kick

Is the damage different? What I’m wondering is whether the command grab counts as a move for damage scaling, because it doesn’t seem to count on the combo counter and it doesn’t look like combos done after it do any less damage than normal. If the grab counts as a move, the second combo should do less damage.

Just tested v Ryu, damage is the same both ways (220 damage), the grab doesn’t count as a hit. Does decent stun, too.

training mode is up, could someone check my work?

Seems to me that the last ‘hard’ combo is utterly terrible, throwing away the ultra just to throw it away… unless they fixed the problem with the second hit not juggling :stuck_out_tongue:

Second hit still doesnt juggle every which way I’ve tried it, I think its impossible to activate the full animation of the ultra in a juggle, making it a waste to even try

my guess is they put the last one in just because everyone else had an ultra combo :stuck_out_tongue:

In better news, the chickenwing loop works on dan (or it should, since they did chxwing ->s.hp xx rekka), so that implies that it’ll work on most people… most of the men anyways. (yes, I’m obsessed with the possibility)

Thing is, the bit of the loop that has to hit is the s.FP xx CW, and unfortunately on Ryu (so I’m guessing Dan too, although I haven’t tested on him specifically), it whiffs. So, for example, R.CW or EX CW, close s.FP xx R.CW or EX CW, the CW whiffs. the RH version is too slow, and the EX version crosses-up. This is why it will probably work on bigs like Zangief, cos the EX version wont crossup and will actually hit.

Does ole’reliable still work? (Chicken wing of any strenght straight into flame kick) The chicken wing seems different nao so wasn’t exactly sure if you could still do that oh so easy but still good combo.

I know its not quite the same thing, but…

One change is you can’t seem to combo out of weak chickenwing… only the harder ones.

I think they made it hard to combo into ultra because a combo into super takes off half of the opponent’s life, or at least judging by that video.

RH.chickenwing > s.FP xx flame kick FADC lk.chickenwing is TOO much, love this combo. Not fun to do on the 360 controller though :frowning:
