Practice the FADC on both sides. Then work on the FADC > CW.
I don’t remember what it felt like but I was struggling with this as well at first. Don’t try and do it too fast, just clear your mind and do clean accurate motions. Work slow and then pick up the pace when you get it down.
There’s a few different things you can try. Which kick do you use for your FK? Personally even as a long time Fei player I use Hk, part due to experience with other characters and part because of my finger placement. I find the double tap of the Mk more difficult to time correctly. (note you will sacrifice the Mk higher damage)
Also like exia noted, you have a longer time to wait than you might think, and the longer you wait the better as you may get all 3 hits (character dependant).
Finally make sure your rolling the stick correctly, look at your inputs in training and adjust. It’s helpfull to build the combo in seperate parts. Do FK FADC dash ONLY, from both sides, until you can’t miss the dash, then introduce your CW.
Thanks for the pointers. I use MK for DP most of the time. For some reason my fingers would do their own thing and I end up with all sort of weirdness in place of CW. I just have to practice weeks, if not months to get used to it I suppose. No shortcuts in this game lol.
Hey guys - I have read that the stLP xxx Tenshin set up is airtight. I can tenshin out of a lp fairly consistently however I think I am doing something wrong. When I set a dummy to record and do it, I am able to jab out of the block and interrupt the tenshin. What am I doing wrong on this cancel. I know, I am screwing something up
LOL minus the homosexual remark I concur with this post. I have done this, a million times it seems like and now it is starting to happen without even thinking about it. In training and arcade mode I instantly fadc cw out of a FK whenever the opportunity presents itself, often on reflex. Now I just have to work up the nerve to use it in a match online…
Its not a true link. There is a 10 frame gap between the block stun from the st.lp to the active frame of the CG. a player can back dash out of it, mash out, throw out any normal 9 frames or less and it will beat your CG. Its just one of those things where you catch them on there heels and surprise them. You can even cr.lp to cg but again its not a true block string. you can get blown up if a player mashes one out
Like nooks says it can be done on reaction easily. Just go into training mode and give it a whirl. It’s a strange link in that you have a bit of time. Which is a good thing.
I’m after doing it a few times ! It is weird I must say. For a 2 frame link I have to do it later then I taught. Then again I’m not the best on links ha.
