Fei-Long and your BP/PP

I make a room, as long as the connection is good, i will let the same person join as many times as they want to lose/win points

I like to join when I can. The bars are deceptive if you make a room; in the “find a match” lobby, you get the actual connection. When you’ve chosen the opponent, they upgrade the bars up by one, so a Yellow bar match can sometimes be disguised as a green. I like to fight only greens when I can.

True that ^ I was going to mention it as a reason why I usually join other people’s lobbies but never got round to it :S

One thing I cannot do is play against just anyone from even inside Europe. Even people in Germany and France are on yellow bar connections, and not playable ones either like you sometimes find. And that’s the distance of say 1/4 of USA? So how you guys play anyone out of state is beyond me; it’s like the game turns to mush and you’re playing like you’ve just nailed a crate of beer. Lost a lot of points experimenting with European connections in ranked.

I will say this though, people from Germany and the Netherlands really seem to like playing Sakura.

Edit: Just found a [media=youtube]p9amoCN_lrg"[/media] (using turbo wouldn’t you know it? though I can’t figure out why he turned his inputs on and not mine :S), where it’s all I can do just to not get random’d to death. I fear that, much more than I fear play the likes of say, Emperor Cow’s awesome Juri. You fighting Juri’s similar to that, Cohens? lol. HE EVEN GETS MY DAMNED NAME WRONG!!

Nice finish at the end there Spartan, lol man, that that random shit kills me with her, i should have saved those replay and posted them so you guys could have seen my frustration, i wasn’t being reckless but man… oh yeah dropped down to 9700 last night, need to stay off this game for about a week.

Oh my word. Just had a dozen games with a 5,000PP Chun-Li mainer named mrdarknight79, and it was just as I described like 10 posts up; I need to improve. He beat me convincingly with his Gief, then his Guy a couple of times, and then Gief again, and then his Chun-Li 3 times, and then his Gief again before I got a lucky-ish win against his Gief.

It was messed up. However, looking over his inputs it looks as if he’s using turbo on LP, HP, LP+MP+HP, LK+MK+HK and HK. Only 4 or 5 inputs at a time, and it was hard to tell so I had to watch a couple of matches to be sure. But regardless, the rest of his game was really good. It was like I’d started playing again, from the very beginning.

I need to get better; in all regards but the turbo, his skill and ability would be the least to expect from any tournament level player, and now I feel lacking, in a big way. Anyone else been playing lots like that, thinking you’re making good progress, and just suddenly realising that you’re just not even close to that level yet?

Mashed my way to A rank (15004 BP). Now I’m quitting Ranked and trying to learn how to play properly in Endless (no more being afraid of losing a match)…

Eugh. Sitting at 3,444PP and 9,912BP. I reached 10,001BP after a good win streak where I was steam rolling some good players, and then got smashed consecutively a few times by one guy, and then the same again by another guy :frowning:

CHOKE!

Gonna relax for a short while and then have another go at it.

Edit: Noope. Failed. Hard. Back down to like 3,300PP and 9,880BP :frowning: It pains me to see that B+ next to a number below 10,000 :'O

Edit 2: Like 3,350PP and 10,010BP! Yay. Mind you, I couldn’t for the life of me find a game in the UK. I had to play with other European folk.

After my first month of Fei Long I’m at 3500PP and 7500BP. Not bad I guess.

I feel he’s extremely powerful even in regular Super, and by extension a beast in AE.

It seems like the vast majority of my losses come down to significant matchup ignorance, or blatant execution errors.

I almost never feel like I’m at a disadvantage with Fei, the way I did in a bunch of matchups with Guile. Maybe Boxer is the only one where I can’t really figure out a reasonable approach yet.

Lol good to see you’re making progress Spartan.

Wait until you reach 15,000 onwards one day if you will, you’ll cry everytime you lose a match, especially to random shit lol.

Sorry for the other day and the 1 round 30 sec matches, i was playing around with a team mate in how he would act under time conditions (Last 10 seconds, do you drop all defense and become a sponge to attacks because you’re rushing forward? lol)

I figured those couple of games were something like that. lol and given the conditions of it, I wasn’t too happy when your friend pulled out Guile. So yeah, I just bailed and joined a friend’s lobby.

But yeah, AE will probably be DLC before I reach A rank, seeing how slowly I rank up going back and forth. Are you still planning to drop Fei when AE drops??

Why drop him if you’ve put the time into learning him?

Congrats Spartan on getting that B+, shit is a bitch to keep the points up at that point you’ll see what i mean about back and forth with them. Hopefully you’ll do better than i have lately and wont have to suffer that much.

so i started using fei long, literally got to 10,000 bp and 3900 pp in a day on psn. honestly fei long feels really cheap in this game and using a character with this many advantages has consequences for ppl who aren’t top players who are trying to legitimately improve their skills as a fighting games player. as fei long, you literally don’t have to think much at all in any matchups besides guile and balrog and maybe chun li but she still gets raped easily bc she has no hp. just walk back and forth mash cr mp, cr fierce, jab rekkas, mash the shit out of chicken wing, post chicken wing bullshit 50/50 of throw/dragon kick/ more jabs/rekkas, mixup with jumping cr mk or jumping cr mp after knockdown. neutral jump HK is too good. cr fierce is too good. fei long vs shotos is easily 7-3. fei long vs dhalsim is DEFINITELY 7-3. fei long vs rufus is probably his most even matchup. he pretty much wrecks every character besides balrog and guile. gief is not really a problem unless you play like an idiot. retarded meaty pressure like standing close mp into sweep is broken. OH lol and i didnt even mention that fei long does twice the damage of any other character in his class, AND he has 1050 stun. WTF is that??? did capcom/dimps not realize that fei was a rushdown character when they made this game???

using fei long instead of my main feels like when ur on a diet and u eat mcdonalds and its soooo good but it feels like shit afterwards. sorry but this character ez mode and you guys are really fooling yourselves if youre like “FEI LONG FORUM BROS FOR LIFE IT’S US AGAINST THE WORLD LOVE U FEI LONG LOVE U BRUCE LEE!!!” sorry dudes but i’d rather struggle with a character who has hard matchups and actually have to think about what i’m doing than use fei long and just do brainless mashing cr mp and rekka’s all day.

not trying to troll you guys, just saying my personal experiences playing as fei long and my opinions on his strength in super street fighter 4.

I play as Fei Long because his moveset was by far the most fun in SF4. He also wasn’t that strong back then.

Definitely won’t drop him just because he’s top tier now and has no bad matchups lol.

Finally I did it!
3252 PP, 10000 BP  I guess I won’t play ranked for a while now

u clearly didn’t encounter anyone that knows the matchup vs Fei.

ATi7500 - Just look at his posts through the profile link - nuff said.

Moving along…

Well done by the way on your points! 10,000BP is my target when I can get off playing Sagat. I’m not too fussed about PP.

If you don’t like him then don’t play him, plain and simple. Also, I don’t think anyone really wants to hear you complain about fei. Maybe that has something to say about the caliber of players where you live. The fei forum is a close knit group of people, we try to help one another out… whats wrong with that? Trust me, especially with AE being released we have a lot of people like you that come in here and complain about stupid stuff and in reality you have only played people online… try to find someone that knows the matchup, and play them offline. Also why don’t you come over to XBL, and no offense to anyone that is on PSN but most of the better players have moved from PSN to XBL, I know from experience myself that the comp. on PSN can be dismal. So let me be the first to say thanks for your words of wisdom, they are not only funny, but ensure that there will be a flood of people coming into this forum trying to troll…

lol, I’m feeling the same way right now

First off good for you. 2nd you must have played a lot of players and I mean A LOT of players who dont know how to lame out Fei or your just that good. I also see your on PS3 so maybe just maybe the lag could have been a factor. That said please do not come on to the Fei forums and post trash. We are a tight group and post like yours are not really welcome here. IF you want to main Fei then by all means go ahead. All we ask is that you post something productive to help the rest of the Fei community. We have enough negative post with AE Fei and his +6 jab.

Also for the record if Fei was so cheap as you said, where is he on this list from the most recent Major held

1st. EG. Ricky Ortiz [Rufus]
2nd. 801 Strider [Abel]
3rd. BLG Juicebox [Abel]
4th. BLG Filipino Champ [Dhalsim]
5th. EG. Marn [Dudley/C.Viper]
5th. Keno [Boxer]
7th. Ed Ma [Juri/Akuma]
7th. XSK Samurai [Ryu]
9th. Alex Valle [Ryu]
9th. Air Canada [Ryu]
9th. Mike Ross [Honda/Blanka]
9th. MashDatDP [Dictator]

I dont see a Fei player in the top 10 do you? So how can he be that cheap?
