I definitely know the feeling, but when I start to lose and feel frustrated, I usually take a 10 min break and then get back on. When I get frustrated I know that I’m doing things that don’t make sense, like half screen unprovoked CW’s lol.
damn yall got some beasty feis, mind showing some vids on your play?
Lmao you guys are hilarious…I just dropped down to 4200 PP. Got pretty frustrated when I dropped a tenshin combo and then it all went downhill from there LOL UGH!!!
Well I don’t main Fei Long but if I can post without him being my main then its
11000BP-Ibuki
4100PP
Trying to break to 5000 but noone I never get any 4000+ PP matches =/
Solid points, but what’s your BP with Fei? Having both numbers side-by-side shows us how much Fei makes up that PP count of yours :wgrin:
Bleh not much if any. He’s pretty much localized in versus and endless battles. If the new characters being announced aren’t to my liking then I’ll put some more time into Bruce Lee.
I just faced off in about 6 matches against the Evo 2010 Female Champion AAA Kayane, her Chun Li surprising is alot better than a majority i’ve faced. Wouldn’t wana face her in the real tournament to be honest The match up is truly 6-4 in Chun’s favour.
Really? I would love to have some matches against her…yeah her Chun really impressed me at Evo. I haven’t really fought too many good Chuns online and the few that I have played, I usually win. I need some matchup experience against Adon!!! Grrr, it’s hard to punish those darn Jaguar kicks on reaction…
I hear ya. Adon’s been a bitch for me to fight–the hitbox on that Jaguar kick seems pretty big so it beats a lot of options when it’s out. Catching it is tough since it can come out of nowhere like Fei’s Tenshin, only it has a lot more range and thus mix-up potential.
One fault of mine in this fight is trying to anticipate each of Adon’s specials and intercept (especially Jaguar Tooth). I usually just end up whiffing a counter attack and getting punished for it. And god, I HATE his long downward reach when he jumps in/up/away!! It’s like he can tag you with his foot no matter how high he is in the air… Such an asshole.
Who’s got a solid strategy against Adon?
Yeap no joke, it ended up 3-3 (but she took the lead originally with 2-0 lol), i got vexxed with the fact my pokes were slightly delayed, and the last thing anyone needs is slow reactions to Chun li walk up throughs and super pokes).
Restarted internet connection and truly had to focus to even up the score. I’ve got replays but sometimes it looks like i just get DOMINATED lol.
The way she would link a couple of LP’s to Standing HP and THEN to Super was unheard of :looney:
I’m no chun expert but I’m pretty sure thats not hard. I did it in trials/training a buncha times easy. It is apparently a 1 frame link but whatever
so I have I think 3500BP and I vary weekly from 4300-4600PP. I mostly use Fei in ranked now but every now and then I bust out Miss Cammy White (I have 8000BP with her). Most of my recent matches have been 80% fei so I’d like to say my PP is representative of that. I really want to make him an integral part of my game and use him in the Rog match-up (possibly Honda too)
Now i remember where i saw your name Tsua, you’re on UKNeptunez beast list for XBL lol
Against Adon for Jaguar Kicks, far st.RH is your friend. On reaction you can do it and stuff him clean for both the vertical kicks. If he does the very horizontal one that covers a lot of screen on the ground, that’s -3 on block, so cr.lp>Rekka to punish.

Heboliansoldier’s Fei Long vs GamerBee’s Adon
As HNIC Mike said, it seems like j. neutral HK is really useful in this matchup.
Yurp that’s preeeeetty much how you have to fight Adon. He even missed a lot of combo opportunities and still won. I think Fei wins that match.
As far as BP/PP… I don’t play ranked much since it’s hard to find good opponents on there. Generally just do endless battles with people I know so if any of you guys ever wanna play, lemme know.
Gotta watch that vid when I’m off of work… Adon’s just a mixed bag for me–either I rush and win or I get rushed down and forget my options. I tried that “st.HK to counter Jaguar Kick” thing and I found that it works if and only if Adon is within range of it. If he’s not and he lands by intentional whiff, you’ll get a st.HK from him instead. It’s just too hard for me to tell the difference between a JK that will be in range and one that will be shy of it, while simultaneously watching for Jaguar Tooth and walk-up st.HK. It’s interesting to note that I haven’t seen many Adon’s abuse st.HK the way it was used against Starnab (I think) in a pre-launch video though.
Sam, get on Live :wgrin: I don’t know how the competition is on PSN, but there’s a good amount of strong players playing on XBL definitely. I think the BP/PP “horror stories” that we’ve heard about dropping 1000 points a night is evidence of that. Ranked really helps filter out player skill; you’ll occasionally get a weak player in a high bracket (through boosting) but the majority of people play Ranked the way it was meant to be played.
Don’t play ranked myself. Killed quite a few higher BP/PP players in endless (6000+ types). I hate ranked due to:
-
all the really good experimenting with the newer characters (or basically any non-shotos) which are my match-up problems occurs in endless. A lot of really good players hang out in endless because there is no fear of losing with non-shoto characters. Besides, the few times I really tried grinding in rank, it was all shotos who left cause my Fei ate them in endless. I remember a recent string of fights in endless with 2 other people where my Fei kicked the crap out of some guys Gouki/Akuma (wasn’t even funny how easy it was), got kicked by the other players Honda, who lost to the other guys Gouki/Akuma.
-
getting “can’t connect” or kicked because connection is too weak or cause they fought me in endless and ran away
I think the 6000+ you’re referring to is BP, which is the lesser of the two measures in terms of judging skill. If it’s PP, you should definitely have a go against a guy named gameinn
You definitely have a point about good players wanting to experiment with new characters. If they’re taking their new characters to endless to avoid losing points though, they must be taking the final product to Ranked (using that reasoning), in which case you’ll find stiffer competition overall in Ranked since people are less willing to lose. Evidence of this is the lot of good players that play ranked, such as the case with Mike Ross, Daigo, gamerbee, etc. These guys are grinding with their mains and using strategies that will work, not fooling around/experimenting with tactics.
I think Endless really is a mixed bag if you join a random session. You may face 1-2 good players who, if you beat them, get pushed all the way down to the bottom of the list. You might also face a whole room full of good players who will continually bump you down, forcing you to watch matches between characters that you don’t really have an interest to learn and to wait your turn. The open nature of Endless also makes it really easy for people, as you said, to come in and scrub around or practice no matter how good or bad they are. Sure you can make a smaller room, but unless you have people that you want to invite, you’ll have to keep kicking people out if they suck and waste your time judging how good they are in the first place.
I also find that the connection in Ranked is pretty good as long as you screen for 4 green bars. Also the experience as far as getting kicked from a ranked room? Doesn’t happen when you do Fight Request in arcade mode. You’ll get a fight almost everytime the stage loads and sometimes people may even chase you down for another match if they feel like they were “cheated” out of a win.
personally I’m much more reckless in endless battles as there is no penalty for loosing. I feel when the pressure is on I play a lot differently then I would in random endless battles. Endless battles for me are a way to warm up, see what I’m doing wrong in certain matchups and find ways around those problems. Once I feel that my head is clear I move over to ranked. Its funny watching my ranked vs endless replays its a total night and day difference.
I won’t deny that there are some very good players that usually hang out in endless, but like I said I usually fool around in endless until I can see that the players are good then I’ll try and step it up. But all in all I think we all play alittle bit differently when there is something on the line and when there isn’t.
