Yeah… It was a great set too. I think I know the Magneto matchup too well though. I had a lot more trouble vs Knives, even though I dropped nearly everything vs him for some reason. I like the Mine set, since I just played overall better during it once I got used to my friends stick
I’d be interested in any tech you have. I like the reset Marvelo posted earlier. My main team is Nova/wolverine/Akuma (Mainly to Abuse the throw glitch, so gooood) but I also use Frank and Racoon (N/F/R, W/F/R, W/N/R). If you have any of this written down I’d much appreciated if you post it or PM it. Its hilarious when someone gets hit by a log trap.
So I attended a tournament this weekend and I got some matches for you guys. Unfortunately I was nervous as hell so I didn’t play my best. I have some legitimately good matches coming (including a perfect) but those are yet to be uploaded so I’ll post them later.

EDIT: My good matches have been uploaded but unfortunately they went down when the stream was having problems so the video is very skippy which sucks. I wanted to be able to rewatch my matches properly =( Either way

Dude! I’m sure you know all this, but you need to abuse team super with Ammy! Like if you have Nova and Ammy left. Just team super, pop xfactor, and go for mixups. Chances are you’ll hit him and you get a decent combo with x-factor. Also, slowdown super would’ve saved you a few times. Nerves suck though! You’re in there with Nova and your whole team works awesome. Good stuff!

Anyways, I’ll actually provide some commentary.
First Match:
-Against Dante, it’s really important to realize how high up he’s hitting you with a falling S after he teleports. You ate a Hammer when you really didn’t have to. Dante’s lows after his box jump or teleport are slowwwwwwwww, so don’t worry about him sneaking in a L. Block high until Dante hits the ground. But that was your game to lose and you panicked after Dante got the initial hit on Frank.

NICE Guard Break setup, with Nova + Ammy. Now take advantage of it and go for the airthrow. The Viper player was mashing on throw and you got clocked.

A more Ideal way to capitalize on airthrow in the corner is the L Rocket Punch combo. Airthrow, falling H, s.h, s , H L rocket punch, ADD, st.H, S, J.H xx SuperNova, DHC into Frank. You get the best damage in the corner plus you get Frank to come in with all those hits. You might have been able to kill if you did the correct Frank Combo as well after DHC’ing.

(3rd Game)I’ve Never used Nova + Ammy, but did you mess up H Centurion Rush after the pickup from Air Grab? You did L Centurion , Ammy hits, M centurion and tried for a reset I guess? I go for guaranteed damage in that situation. Cost you Nova.
Second Match:
- Game one you played great. Great ToD combos with Frank. Might have burned your X-Factor a bit too early, but it paid off.
-Game two you played really impatiently against this guy’s keepaway and lost two characters to it. Pick your spots well and utilize certain things about Nova such as his good box jump. He wasn’t charging spells or anything like that. Just calling missles, doing towers and flinging dark matter and then telporting. Look to snipe his assists with Gravometric Blaster or High Speed Tackle.
-Good clutch with Ammy in game 3.
-Game 4 you really exposed yourself with that random Super. Stay Solid against Doom. He wasn’t gonna come rushing to you, so take advantage of that.
Third Match:
- You went in too hard 1st game and got Helm Breakered. Pick your spots better and come in with frank or Ammy protecting you. At least if you get popped by Helm Breaker with Ammy out, her assist will keep Nova Safe. Wasted too much meter trying to plug Wesker with Tackle. But you recovered your composure and clutched it with Ammy.
-Game 2. Announcers said it best. LOOK AT YOUR DAMN METER. You had enough meter to chip Dante out easy. But you went in and got popped for it.
Overall you played good, but always room for improvement!
Some overall things to take away:
-Pick your spots to move in and utilize all of your movement options. Be patient. Your moment will come.
-Use your assists to cover your approach more. You risk getting blown up with your assist, but it makes your approach safer if you can space it correctly.
-Watch your meter and spend it wisely. Either you're blowing it on fishing for mistakes with Nova Tackle or not spending it when you could chip them out with Ammy.
- Optimize your damage output when you can, like with the airthrow combo I mentioned.
- Clean up your execution overall. You missed some crucial combos to put people away. Hard to do in tournament setting but it's always a goal to set.

I actually know all about that corner airthrow combo but I just missed it every single time, it’s annoying -.- also about the xfactor I popped up at 45:39, that frustrated the hell out of me because that always combos but I guess because cold star had already hit, HSD prevented object toss to properly connect. That’s usually my go-to x-factor confirm with level 4 frank. Fish for a st.M > object toss and confirm it into a ToD. I actually do it succesfully later in that very match. A friend of mine is organizing a small 8-16 man tournament 2 weeks from now which I might attend so you’ll get extra footage then, let’s just hope it’s good footage Thanks for the input, helps a lot! BTW yeah that thing at 0:21:28 where I use cold star is actually a combo extension. I just missed the heavy Cent. Rush <_<;
Just a quick question, how did you get H centurion to cancel the 2nd hit? I thought this was just applicable on push block. I’ve been trying to figure it out in the lab but I can’t seem to make it happen for me =/
It’s something I haven’t COMPLETELY figured out myself but basically, just get a projectile to hit while the Centurian Rush hits…one way to see it is to H rocket punch for a crumple, throw an energy javelin, do the Rush and hold up.
hm alright, I found that you can only do it if the opponent is slight above you and it’s hard to to setup that situation for me in an actual match because I don’t use Spencer (which I should). Thanks for the feedback though I really want this to work on my team lol
Actually, there are no real specific situations like that for it to work. I do it all the time on block when people block an energy javelin or if I do it on hit with Taskmaster’s arrows. I also do it on incoming characters when they get hit by or block an H pulse (shield)

That’s actually pretty interesting. I never thought that Cent. Rush assist would reset the groundbounce, I just thought it ignored the limit. Now I see that it resets and uses it at the exact same time. Good stuff!

It works the same with Dante’s beehive. If cent rush assist hits while beehive is active, I always get another ground bounce. No idea why, but it works. Pretty interesting properties.
Not only does this work with Ground-bounces, but you Spencer players may be excited to know that it also resets any wall bounces as well
If you get them in the corner and wait a second and then call Nova + TK H grapple, Nova hits before Spencer kicks them off the wall and causes the wall-bounce to not be used. Then you use a LATE falling H, Grapple forward, grapple dwnfwd, H grapple, L follow up xx Bionic Manuevers. If you have the meter for it, do TK grapple, zip dwnfwd, zip dwnback , H Grapple , L FollowUP xx Bionic Maneuvers for RETARD STRENGTH DAMAGE.
