Nope, doesn’t look any faster, but it’s still cool seeing Thor in action.
Just out of curiosity does anyone have any good mix-ups with Thor on incoming characters?
Fully charged Mighty Strike. After they block, come down with your standard tri jump mixup of j :l: , cr :l: cr :h:(or cr
)
Mighty Smash, launch. Typically causes a good hit confirm, because after you both land on the ground, they forget to block the cr :l:.
Also, check Arti’s tutorial for some more good stuff like that.
from PAX
When I asked Seth if his main man Thor got any love, he laughed and said, “No, right this second Thor isn’t much different.”

I was just coming here to post the same thing. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m absolutely infuriated to hear this. I would encourage everyone to bombard Niitsuma and Seth with complaints/requests from every available avenue, including Twitter, Capcom Unity, and whatever else you can think of. I know for a fact that Seth responds to some PMs on Unity, since he responded to a couple of mine prior to the vanilla release reassuring me that Thor was going to be a boss.
Not even even going to lie, but’s that fucking lame on his and Capcom’s part. Myself and various other Thor users are pissed after that comment. It’s pathetic to be hearing, outside of a few high characters getting nerfed hard, that the rest are getting other abilites to make up for the losses. Or many others are getting barely any nerfs at all (Wesker health nerf and a few frames added to teleport? That’s all? Get real!)…while many lower characters are barely getting any buffs at all.
It really is sounding worse everyday I hear any new info. The only actual confirms we have is a buff for more range on mighty hurricane (and we don’t even know how much it’s been uped). Everything else are possible maybe’s. Even then, there’s only like…3 possible buffs. Shit, capcom. If Thor really has no buffs, then I’m moving on to greener pastiers in other games. Sure, I can drop Thor…and from the sounds of things, Capcom wants me to drop Thor. Hell, most of the lower cast sound like there just there to take up space now.
Niitsuma has shown Thor love last year before he was announced, and I really thought considering he loves the character he would have made him really good. Now they want to write him off. Utter bullshit. It’s infuriating that capcom doesn’t even WANT to try to up him up with very little things. They said that proper balancing can make or brake a character such as HsienKo, which is why she’s barely getting buffs either. What a load. Stop lying to us.
Errr…guess I gotta join the cause and PM the shit out of Seth and Niitsuma’s boxes. Won’t make a difference though…the minority gets heard the least.
Ha ha, I hear ya on that. It’s really not that hard to buff him either. At the bare bones minimum, all he needs are a few property changes on his less than spectacular moves. Faster/higher priority normals, faster start up for Mighty Strike, better Mighty Thunder, combo after Mighty Punish. Better yet, someone just PM Seth and Niitsuma page 28 of this thread. Have 'em pick anything from there, and I’ll be happy.
From reading the article, it really seems like that guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
What are the best follow-ups after getting a ground/air throw with Thor? (ideally not character depend assists)
After a ground throw, you can easily follow up with a and a launcher. The only thing tricky about it is the timing, because his back throw and front throw move at different speeds for it. To avoid that trickiness, and actually get in a better position and do more damage, I usually follow up his ground throws with a
Mighty Smash into the launcher for the combo. His air throws are trickier though, because he can’t do anything by himself. If you want to follow up with an air throw, you need an OTG assist.
I think I remember that Thor is one of the characters that can raw-tag after his ground throw to let another character continue the combo with much less scaling then he would experience if he did a follow-up combo himself.
Another thing is that he can do a cool air loop after his ground throw. I think it’s [:uf: j.:l::h:
:d::db::l:, land ] x2 into a Mighty Smash -> super, or maybe his launcher at that point. Not sure, but it does way more damage/more meter than just launching immediately off the throw.
And to be honest, Seth says “right this second…” there are no Thor changes. They could be still tweaking and it’s not in the build or are discussing ways to give him a buff.
how its going Thor players so i put Thor on my main team a few weeks ago and have been playing him ALOT he’s really a solid character he just has some trash matchups. anyways i was wondering if anybody has come up with or can give me advice on how to improve this combo damage wise.

What i usually do after the mighty tornado is DHC into Dante Devil Trigger and continue the combo via ground/wall bounce and Drones
Only thing that comes to mind is doing a Mighty Smash before your first launcher.

loving the Ultimates, and EMH colors
The new colors for Thor look good. I’ll probably pick the Ultimate color as my default.
they’re nice but thor’s 2nd alt colour (white & red) is still the best imo.
The new Red Thor outfit is officially mine
The ultimate and outer space ones are the only ones I actually like, but then again, I don’t really feel thor’s outfits other than the reborn and the avengers version of his outfit. I’m probably the least asgardian of you all…
They removed the white color.WTF !?!??!?!?! i quit this game.
