OTher than Buktooth, do you guys wanna recommend some Thors that I should watch. Im trying to work on compiling a new Thor Combo/ Reset thread.

Regarding punishing Wolverines Slash; its punishable, I know this as a Wol player but I dont know what of Thors moves can punish it, since I rarely fight him or use him enuf to have a feels for his startup frames.
I assume cr:l: would get you started though

Yeah I think cr.L is too slow. That’s why I only have a prob punishing it with Thor. Gonna check frame data in a sec.

Edit- looks like the only move fast enough to punish is his command grab but I’m sure that wont work when the berserker slash is shallow. Will test tomorrow.

Shot I hope Thor gets pushed back to far to punish my Slash with a throw.
One Thor throw combo is curtains for Wolvie

I tested it and all blocked Bessemer barrage is command grab h, all dive kicks blocked can be reversal command grab h unless he spaces it really well. Just watch forstuffand try and block well.

and how about ‘Bessemer’ slash?

Berserker slash can be light command grabbed unless they spaced it well. Also lol at iPad changing my shit!

You can use it to slightly cut down on the recovery of H mighty spark.

Okay so against Phoenix, if she’s at the point of getting DP make sure you kill her with Mighty Strike. The burst that she does as Dark Phoenix comes up doesn’t stop Mighty Strike, which kinda makes sense since it really is just a projectile. If an assist is what kills her and Thor is already in the animation for Strike then he’ll go through and hit her. If you have a bar then just cancel into Tornado and she’s gone. I just did it to someone, funniest thing I’m gonna see all week, lol.

Oh and another thing, if you kill her mid air with Mighty Tornado then she’s in trouble too. The initial burst doesn’t knock Thor out of the move. I’m not sure if they really can’t block, the guy I played says he was and the hits went through anyway. If it’s true though then whatever you do, make the last hit on her Tornado and you want it to kill her early in the animation so that the burst doesn’t save her.

IM pretty sure they can block right after the burst. I’ll test this when i get home though.

I know like combo to launcher OTG mighty smash kills her from almost full so If I delay and do full charge otg to mighty tornado that should make tornado come out right before she’s bursting, should be interesting.

you have 4 frames of invincibility on the transform and you can do whatever you want during those frames including teleport block jump etc

Tested and yeah she can block for sure, and its not even good chip damage. you could dhc this block into something else of course, but its not guaranteed. As also mentioned by gimpy she can teleport as well, not to mention the setup to get her to be in the right position to die so the burst doesn’t hit you his semi hard, meaning its nice to know you can make the burst whiff but its not super useful.

Ive been trying another option where you bounce her high enough to kill then tk grab to get her, but i can’t get the timing right or the height right, its hard for thor to end a combo high enough and have enough time to jump and grab her during the frames were she can’t act after the burst.

isnt his divekick positive on block a little? couldnt everyone just jam on f+H to grab him then?

ya i dont think you can grab wolverine after a blocked dive kick, but it is possible to beat the dive kick out with a Mighty strike M, land, dash, sj and grab them as they’re coming down. This is assuming that they air tech back, otherwise you shouldnt need to dash.

you can beat it at the right angles clean with c.m can’t you?

in other news dive kicks in marvel are brainless and retarded LOL

As far as I know its not plus on block its Minus. You can just throw him in my tests with a reg grab. Even though I think those are what 3 frames? thors H command throw is 1 frame, so its much easier. I’ll check the frame data but Im pretty sure wolverine dive kick is minus on block…

Edit: checked. It says its supposed to be +8 on block, but that doesn’t take into account landing time. SO I don’t know I’ll record it a few more ways to try it out and see if I can make it change, maybe I was having wolverine jump to slowly.

well i recorded wolverine doing a super jump + dive kick then mashing cr.L, always got hit by the cr.L when i went for a MH.

I’m sure I’ve done it too actually. A dive performed mid-screen height, I blocked it then retaliated with Hard MH.
