I will be going to a fedex kinkos to print my artwork. Its for my Hori Tekken 5 stick. I plan on getting a high quaility regular print, cutting it then laminating it.
What size do i need to tell them to print?
Professional printing companies > Kinkos.
Ok if I get something Lamilabled, do I print on Laser Paper or Card Stock?
Why pay more or actually look for one, when there’s a Kinko’s right down the street that’ll do it for 2 bucks, then a lamilabel for 6? 8 bucks total for an artmod is a great price.
I guess you haven’t done much printing before if you have to ask that question…
I try never to print things.
So I made mashed together some arcade stick art for my stick

Thank you to whoever posted that TE stick in the custom stick thread with the LBP street fighter characters for inspiring me.
Was only $1.17 to print it at staples and colors and everything turned out great. Only thing is that it is a bit blurry when looking at it at a close distance. Earlier in the thread it was posted that 72pixels per inch was bad for printing out art and that is exactly what I used. The art is ~10.25" x 7.5" going in a custom case, under plexi.
My question is: would it be better to bump up the 72 pixels per inch to something like 90 pixels per inch? I had to scale the original images down a little bit for it to fit the art correctly, so I could bump the ppi up a little bit but I’m not sure if bumping it up such a minuscule amount would help. I did try the sharpen filter in photoshop but I’m not sure if it would really help (my laptop monitor sucks). Is there anything else I could do to make it less blurry other than change the ppi? The blurriness isn’t really that big of a deal but seeing as it is only $1.17 to print out another copy, making it better wouldn’t be much of a hassle.
noob question here, i got my template printed on kinkos, ordered prints online, i selected the 8x14 laser paper, and got it lamilabeled at kinkos, but when i got home and cut it out, i noticed that the template is waaayy smaller than the arcade stick, did i have to specify what size or dimensions to print? please help, thanks.
Why pay $8 at Kinkos when I can pay $2 more at one of the many specialized printing locations around any town. There are FAR more higher end printing companies in my town than there are Kinkos. Probably yours too, you just don’t know where they are at. Look in the phone book under printing.
anyone?
Tell them to print the actual size of your template.
They will see if it fits on Legal or Tabloid.
You do not want them to resize your template at all though.
I went to kinko’s today they said they can’t print because of copyright issues -_-
… all I can say.
They said the same thing to me today.
Went to another Kinkos and they printed it no questions asked.
What’d your art look like? Did you use the mc template with “Property of MadCatz” at the bottom? If so you should delete that layer. If this isn’t the case, the employees at your FedEx suck for being anal. They should know you’re not selling it for profit if you’re only getting one or two copies.
Nvm, I just saw it in the template thread. Maybe you could try going on a different shift/day so you don’t get that same person that told you no.
For the PPI
it’s recommended to do over 300 right?
So i go into PS and go to Image Resize,
take off the scale and change the PPI to 300 (from 72)?
or when I print it displays my ppi at 217, greater than 72…which one is it?
I want to make my picture look good high res, for the fight stick 3…the resolution is 2500x1333 at the moment,
help?
You mean DPI right? 300 dpi is sufficient for printing purposes but if you’re resizing something from 72 dpi to 300 dpi, it will look like crap + blurry. 2500x1333 = 8.333"x4.443" @ 300 dpi. You cannot res-up a low quality image to a high quality one. It doesn’t work that way.
If you have your own printer, for the SE you can fit the template on there by printing landscape. They can’t say no to just doing the lamilabel.
so let me get this straight… im trying to make a template and part of the image im using is from a 1600x1600 72ppi image… that size is going to come out blurry when printed?
Set your image to the correct print size, look at the image at 100%. If it looks bad there then it will proably look bad when printed.
Won’t be the best quality no. Also depends on how big you are gonna blow that picture up to be.
