I agree with OP.
It’s completely horrible to watch, and hurts the scene way worse than any brazzers sponsorship could.

Really? I don’t? Referencing the precedent set by the evo staff and providing video evidence of him throwing the match? My opinion doesn’t factor in here at all.
I’m pretty sure everyone else took it more seriously than Justin or Noel too.
Not trying to win in grand finals = giving up.
Also, he didn’t just ‘give up’, he made it very obvious from the start of the match that he wasn’t even going to try to win.
Even if you think you’re going to loose still play your teams and learn so you can level up
But theres worse things going on like negros using Hulk in Marvel
You’re clearly incapable of understanding the concept of a hypothetical or grasping logic whatsoever. Your abuse has been reported, I will kindly ask you to exit the thread.
Masterful trolling is masterful
EDIT: But the thing is I don’t think he’s *really *trolling, so it makes the trolling better.
KOFXIII? People play that game?
Maj, leave this thread.
It’s not too bad. Get a combo started, press lk and hp, do butt loop with yuri. The game is fun, I just drop links far too often to be decent at that game.
Okay, so at the end of the day, I have three questions.
1.Why did you make this thread?
2.Do you think Chris G should be penalized?
3.What is your problem with this in general?
After you answer those, we can continue.
In response to your response, if the people involved don’t care, you shouldn’t either, because that’s beckoning a fight no one will win.
Also, I guess you’re thinking you’re cheeky, referencing EVO and then SHOVING YOUR OWN OPINIONS AND ASSUMPTIONS in the mix.
If you want to have a clear concise conversation of what he did and what EVO might do about it, fine.
But, as of right now, you’re basically saying “This is what I feel EVO should do because I feel this way.”
It don’t work that way kid.
If EVO really feels like this is a problem, THEY WILL HANDLE IT, you don’t need to make a thread, crusading the consistency of their actions.
Is that a joke? Not only is that scrubby as hell, Sektor isn’t even top 10.
He’s 24. Don’t call him a kid.
I’m not making this about me, YOU are making this about me. I have no idea why. Also I’m seriously doubting your reading comprehension skills at the moment. You’re reading a lot into this that simply isnt there.
I made this thread to make more people aware of it.
Maj is Maj on SRK. This dude is just some random, since Maj is capable of holding a rational conversation.
That said, giving up in GFs is pretty lame, even if you are playing against someone out of your league.
I wonder what the more important detail is. Is it the friendship or the gap in skill? Would the ruling be different if Justin and Noel weren’t friends? What if Noel was the better MVC3 player? Who decides which competitors are friends or who has more skill? Is the skill contingent on tournament wins? Would Justin be considered to have less skill than someone who wins more tournaments locally, or do only majors count? What if a competitor is very good but doesn’t play in majors? Is the friendship contingent on past behavior? What if two past friends are competing against each other but they recently had a falling out?
I would love to see how this rule is worded. Maybe something like this:
"In cases where the competitors have close personal relationships (including but not limited to friends, lovers, relatives, or team-mates) they are expected to play out their matches to the extent of their skill and talent. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of seeding points and the issuance of a yellow card.
The judgement of whether or not two competitors are friends will be made by a council of community members by examining the past behavior of the competitors and also taking into account hearsay and idle speculation about how the match would play out if both players had been playing with all of their effort."
Also, I love how everyone basically accepts that Chris G would have lost to Bala anyway. Reminds me of that Jet Li movie “Hero”, where they don’t bother to fight in real life because they could do it in their minds. We should have entire tournaments like that.
It’s obvious the OP doesn’t like people who look like our lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Just gonna say for the record that you have no idea who I am, and that you should probably stop trolling this thread that evo staff are definitely going to check out at some point.
GTFO Satanist.
Exactly. The only detail that matters is that he intentionally lost the match.
Yes.
An increasing path to validity/monetization/professionalization of our “community/sport/hobby” is based on spectators, and providing a spectator experience both in person and via internet streams. By not trying to even the point WHERE A COMPLETE NEOPHYTE CAN TELL HE WAS FORFEITING, he was robbing viewers of entertainment that they had planned on.
Imagine your favorite sporting event, and in the championship one team just lays down and quits. People would stop watching and be pissed, sponsors would want their money back, and the integrity of the competition would be tarnished. It’s a lose/lose for everyone.
And the shit needs to be stopped.
