Favorite Soundtrack?

When it comes to fighting games, there is a lot of good music for our ears to enjoy. I’m curious to know what you guys think has the best soundtrack.
For me, it’s a tie between 3s and KOF XIII

Been jamming to Jedah’s theme and Rikuo’s theme(from Darkstalkers’ Revenge) as of recent. There’s just no fighting game that has failed to capture my attention as far as soundtrack goes.

For how much I feel like i see people shitting on current gen fighting games here theres one thing thats kinda undeniable, music is fucking on point nowadays.

Tekken 2, GG, SF EX (rising dragon was so sweet xD), Soul Blade, SFIV credits theme, Art of Fightings insane synths . Top of my head anyway am partial to most OSTs to those stick out atm

Honestly, although I liked the music in MvC2 to an extent, I don’t find it worthy of being in a Top 5 considering all of the fighting game music I have experienced. Mostly because the music in MvC2 felt really odd and out of place. Now, Chun-Li’s Theme in the original MvC, however…

And as a rebuttal to your your statement about current gen FG music being on point, I say SFxT. Ugh.

I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree, i like the different feel it brings to the game. Catchy music that really compliments the whole aesthetic of the game well imo. I can see where you’re coming from though, it is a lil off putting at first.

And sfxt doesnt count, coming from someone who actually likes the gameplay im still gonna go ahead and say its just the problem child of this gens fgs. And yeah, its music is ass lol

To reply to what someone said about current fg music: I feel Capcom really dropped the ball when it comes to the quality of their soundtracks. They went from Third Strike’s godlike music, announcer, and sound effects to Street Fighter 4’s ‘meh’ sound score. From MvC2’s catchy, memorable music to MvC3’s lame ass techno (Hawkeye’s theme is pretty hype though).

And let’s not even talk about Cross Dubstep.
