Listing by My Favorite Games –
- Darkstalkers Series – Felicia, Morrigan, Demitri, Jon Talbain
Love Felicia in Nightwarriors/Vampire Hunter/DS2; not so much in Vampire/Darkstalkers 1 or Vampire Savior/VH2/VS2/DS3.
Morrigan’s great in both DS2 and DS3. Demitri as well is good in both DS2 and DS3… Prefer him slightly better in DS2.
Talbain isn’t a character I use a lot but he’s solid and reliable in DS2 and DS3. He’s like a version of Guile I actually like to use! :looney:
- Street Fighter – Ken and Ryu all the way followed by Chun-Li and Sakura.
If I just want to get a high score and beat people up horribly, Ken. If I want to survive, Ryu!
Chun-Li is a character that’s hard for me to get all the way through without a continue but she’s a cutie. Sakura I find is generally more powerful than Chun-Li or at least easier to beat the game with.

Samurai Shodown – as much as I like the game, I don’t play it that much and I’m only mediocre at it. I just like the Capcom setups and their easier-to-perform combos better. That said, Haohmaru is the only character I feel comfortable with in this series and the Capcom Vs. SNK games…

Marvel series – X-Men. In the first two Vs. games (XvsSF, MSHvsSF), I prefer the Cyclops/Wolverine tag team. I just don’t generally think the SF characters are that powerful in the games and prefer Mutie teams. Cyclops is my favorite X-Man in X-Men: COTA.
I don’t play MvsC1 much since I don’t care for the tag system and bonus characters that much. I had more fun playing MvsC2 with its three-man teams. I generally played with all X-Men teams (Cyclops, Wolverine, Ice-Man) or super-beam teams (Ice Man, War Machine, Iron Man).
The only non-mutant character I really liked playing was Captain America and frankly I felt he was only competitive in Marvel Super Heroes: Infinity Gems. As much as I like Spider-Man, he’s an incredibly weak character in the series overall.
