Father of the year,or what needs to happen when you are a ungrateful spoiled child

So nothing bad happening=sensible discharge of a firearm?

If someone had gotten injured, would your opinion be different?

Or would it be “shit happens - fuck an obligation to act responsibly?”

I am devastated by this admission from someone with bad enough taste in literature, to have named himself after a character from as shitty an author as Salvatore.

I feel sorry for your daughter.

This dude handled this extremely well. Only the people that know her and know the family have any ideal who the chick is.

If anything this teaches her that, what you put on the net stay’s on the net and effect’s not just you but everyone you include in it.

Dude didn’t “spank her” or anything but this was a very fitting punishment and one it seems like she well learn much more from rather than a spanking or grounding.

I feel like a lot of cats think that talking to a kid will just magically work. Like every kid listens and understands the words coming out of an adult’s mouth. “Honey the reason why I make you do chores is to teach you responsibility and that you can’t have everything you want when you want it.”

“But I wanna go to the mall with my friends! YOU SUCK DAD! I’m gonna bad mouth you on facebook!”

Not every kid is going to receptive to being told what to do and when to do it. I have four nieces and nephews (50/50) and each one of them is completely unique in how they handle things. The youngest girl (4) cries when she doesn’t get what she wants. The oldest boy (7) throws a tantrum and might call you a name. The oldest girl (7 they are twins) pouts but moves on. And the youngest boy (5) takes a second to get that he should stop but once he does he understands. That’s four different little people that need to be dealt with individually. Just maybe after 15 years this father who obviously cares about his daughter knows how to handle her acting out on facebook.

I have to ask but are either CLU 2 or Naslectronicalparents or have dealt with children on a extended period of time? You guys really make it sound like this guy ruined this girl’s life for all eternity like she’s some broken mess. This isn’t the “Consequences will never be the same!/Backhack” father from a year or two ago with his psycho horny 13 year old or whatever daughter. What we have here is a clever Dad teaching her daughter a lesson she’ll never forget.

What the…? You think that the brash and senseless actions of this macho redneck dad makes him clever? xD

It wasn’t macho at all, would you prefer he slammed the laptop on the ground? smashed it with a hammer ran over it with a car? If he wanted to destroy it he used the right thing.

Only person who was being brash and thoughtless sounded like the daughter.

“Dad can you fix my laptop, oh I just finish writing a nasty letter about you and mom and posting it on face book for friends and family and I didn’t log out.”

The way he handled this was a taste of her own medicine and anyone who might have only saw things through facebook. Got to se his POV through facebook before it all ended. I’m sure the mom and dad had all kinda people talking behind there back simply because of the daughter… Well all that got laid to rest, in the same format it got started.

Note that “macho” was an adjective describing the word “dad”, not the word “actions”. It’s not just him shooting the laptop - everything about the way he talks and acts rubs off in that stereotypical redneck dad kind of way. =P

Also, I’d hardly call risking a ricochet wound “the right thing”, but maybe that’s just me.

They both seem brash and senseless. I can totally see the family ties.

looks like he thought things through pretty well, he used hollow tips on broken soil… I doubt that was a coincidence.

And just because he is a stereotypical redneck doesn’t make him someone wanna be tough or brash guy. The dude obviously has plenty of common sense as you can tell from what i just pointed out and the way he delivered the message without speaking the daughters name among other things.

I live in the south and im a black guy…I know well enough what a brash cocky redneck is and act’s like and that was far from it…

I said “macho”, in this sense meaning prominently exhibited masculine bravado. The reason why he chose to shoot his daughter’s laptop (rather than sell it) and subsequently post his actions on Youtube is because, he admits, he wanted to show off to his daughter’s teenage friends. If that isn’t prominently exhibited masculine bravado, then tell me what is.

Also, what a great lesson to teach your attention seeking daughter: How to seek attention even better.

Cool. I live in Alabama, so I see these types of guys on a daily basis. My father’s side of the family is full of them, too.

ITT: Shitty white-knights and psychiatrists.

Sorry I had to. Anyways, there’s really one thing I wanted to contribute to this thread.

Some people take “acting responsibly” way too fucking far. I can get totally shit-faced, but do it responsibly. I see a hurt dad shooting his daughter’s laptop, with noone around. Clearly the man is a helluva responsible guy. He isn’t some hobo-looking guy. His shit was all neat and organized. Except he’s clearly very hurt by his daughter and he’s trying something to get her shit together.
But whatever. People really get hung up over the fact that you have to be this clean-cut, straight edge person to be “responsible” but then again, those people never really push life to the limits or know just how incredible and fun shit can be. That isn’t my problem tho so to the guy(s) that agree with that kind of thinking, you’re missin’ out.
Anyways, I had to get that off my chest. Hope it wasn’t too out of place.
PS: This father is waaaay cooler than Jesse Slaughter’s dad. Dude wound up in jail. There’s a moral in there somewhere I’m sure but it doesn’t seem like you guys really care to discuss that topic

EDIT: Wow, on a second look through a lot of these posts reveal that most of the dumb posts in here (most of the ones that judge the father) are people who share a lot of similarities to the father’s daughter.

What, you mean like the way that I’ve paid my own way through college and supported myself out of high school and all that other good stuff? =P

Actually, I wonder what college he went to that admitted a 15 year old without a high school diploma through their doors. That’s arguably the most interesting part of the video.

I woulda left, but the thread didn’t die.

Spoiler

I SHOT THE LAPTOP!!! DON’T TYPE TOO MUCH BECAUSE IT MIGHT SHOT!!!

-Starhammer-

Or he could have given it away to someone who could use it, which is also final.

Lol. #RedneckDaddy

You can take community college classes at night and get a head start. Still counts as college.

ROTFL @ all the “I would have done the same thing” comments.

tl:dr Father is a gun crazy hillbilly who is way too strict on his daughter who has the right to complain as much as she wants because she’s a teenage girl.

Have at it SRK this is as close to 4chan raids 2.0 as you’ll ever get! (I couldn’t help but post in their thread =/).

dude shot a laptop with a computer, in an open field. He did not shoot his daughter’s puppy.

“I’m unsure of where to come down on this. I’ve decided this will be a good life story to tell in the distant future when she has kids telling them about her daddy.”

  • Quote from RT. That’s a hilarious story to tell anyone once you get out of being a teenager.

This, 100% of what needed to be said about this video.

First word that popped into my head when i saw this video was “therapy”. Seeing how the dad reacted though i seriously doubt that’ll ever happen. All this video does is make the dad feel big and special (while probably making his daughter feel pretty shitty) while sending the message that if you have a problem just solve it with a gun. Brilliant…

Man points is way over Goku’s.
